Not sure being an ally counts as a queer artist. Also shouldn’t Harry Styles be here or does queerbaiting not count?I guess because Melanie B is in the band and she is bisexual. She had a relationship with a woman in LA and of course the whole Geri saga!Apparently Madonna says she has slept with a handful of women too.

A simple google search tells you that
Wednesday at 14:531 day This pathetic list proves how atrocious the situation is in the industry and who is getting pushed by major labels etc. How embarrassing.

Wednesday at 18:351 day What about the Teletubbies? Tinky Winky just HAS to be a friend of Dorothy, right?

I also thought the list would grow bigger in 2010s and 2020s but alas it’s not the case.

And I feel like streaming tends to favour MOR acts with wide appeal. Gays just make music too fabulous for the general population

Also a lot of the early acts came out in the 2010-20s, so there's probably going to be more hits added retroactively from the 2010-20s over the following years and decades.

Thanks for compiling it!
Wednesday at 21:501 day The recent weeks at #1 alone don't tell much of a story. 'Messy' and 'Pink Pony Club' were 2 of the 3 biggest songs in the UK last year, and the list doesn't include #2s, but 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER' were both in the top 10 of 2024 and top 15 of 2025.

Yesterday at 01:191 day I hope that we get at least one #1 song with a queer artist. If we don't, it'll be the first year since 1995 to not have one.
