Literally nobody said Ariana was the biggest ally around. Not everything has to be an argument or a competition - it's exhausting and it's derailing threads regularly at the moment.

I don't mean to start a whole debate on this but it's ironic when it's coming from a Taylor fan - that's no criticism but she's very much not immune to multiple variants! Pot kettle etc

TOTGA still one of Katys best

Very Underated, glad it's getting another showcase since I didn't know about it the first go round.

Really liking the 2010's revival lately takes me back to childhood

Coincidentally, Katy's album "Teenage Dream" was certified 7x Platinum today.

Biography

A year or so after 2010’s Thank Me Later hit, Drake was browsing art in LA when a neon sign caught his eye: “LESS DRAKE, MORE TUPAC”. At first, he felt like ripping it off the wall. Instead, he bought it. After all, he figured if someone puts your name next to Tupac, you must be doing something right. Born Aubrey Drake Graham in Toronto in 1986, he—like Tupac—became the voice of a generation and prism for his pop-cultural moment, starting with 2011’s sumptuous Take Care, a career-defining magnum opus that’s included in Apple Music’s 100 Best Albums list. Was he an R&B singer who rapped or a rapper who sang? Was he really that sad, or just exploiting a cultural preference for male vulnerability? From the jump, he let his contradictions define him: tender but cruel, sober one minute and drunk-dialling the next, a guy who could convince you he was an underdog from his perch on top of the world. Yet as lurid as his inner world is, the proof lies in his reach outward. A Drake project can incorporate house and club music (2017’s More Life, 2022’s Honestly, Nevermind) and red-eyed trap (2022’s 21 Savage collab Her Loss) with equal conviction and at no loss to the subjectivity at the centre. “I obviously spend a lot of time in my own world,” he told Apple Music in 2016. “But when I do take a look at the broader scope of things, I’ve always tried to make music that transcends gender, nationality—to try and unify people. Because that’s really what it’s about.” Even after cementing his prowess many times over, Drake still retains the capacity to surprise. His 2023 poetry collection Titles Ruin Everything with repeat collaborator Kenza Samir proved intentionally fragmented, while his very public 2024 beef with Kendrick Lamar became a focal point not just in hip-hop fandom, but also global mainstream culture. At this point, he’s such an indelible part of the firmament that his slightest move can trigger aftershocks far beyond his immediate reach. - Apple Music

Biography

When RAYE speaks of her music, she doesn’t just talk of songs but of “stories”. And the South London singer-songwriter (born Rachel Agatha Keen in 1997) has quite the knack for writing them. Nominated for the Songwriter of the Year Ivor Novello Award in 2022, RAYE first broke through in 2014 with her star-signalling self-released debut EP, Welcome to the Winter, followed by the Stormzy-featuring Second EP two years later. A stream of singles and collaborations, including with Stefflon Don, Mr Eazi and Jax Jones, hinted at an artist who could shape-shift between musical spheres—and excel wherever she landed. But despite such successes (her name has also featured on the credits of songs by artists such as Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding, Little Mix and John Legend), RAYE felt trapped behind the scenes. In 2021—just months after the release of her chart-topping dance-pop anthem “BED” alongside Joel Corry and David Guetta—the singer-songwriter wrote on social media that she hadn’t been “allowed” to release her debut album and that she was “sick of being slept on” by her label, an allegation that sent shockwaves through the music industry. And it was then that RAYE returned to those stories, as she came to work on her long-awaited 2023 debut LP, My 21st Century Blues, as an independent artist. On it, she explores being a young woman in music and the trauma of sexual assault and substance abuse, but also the things any woman RAYE’s age might be moved to write about: climate change, relationships ending, falling in love with someone new. “This is about me telling the stories I want to tell, in the order I want to tell them, through the sonic landscape I want to tell them,” RAYE told Apple Music at the time of the album’s release. My 21st Century Blues, she added, wasn’t made with mainstream success in mind, yet that’s exactly what it brought. After the confronting “Hard Out Here.” and the made-for-repeat-listening “Black Mascara.”, she unleashed “Escapism.” featuring 070 Shake, a viral hit on both sides of the Atlantic and the biggest song of RAYE’s up to that point. It signalled, without doubt, that her time had come. “It is just the most beautiful validation,” said RAYE. “To know that you’re right to back yourself when you feel conviction and you feel passionately about something. I made this [album] battling and figuring out freedom, and I’m so excited for the artist I get to become. This has set the tone for me.” - Apple Music

Biography

Temper City is an Israeli, LA-based band consisting of Eytan Peled (איתן פלד), Aviv Barenholtz (אביב ברנהולץ), and Hen Kordova (חן קורדובה). Temper City first started behind the scenes as writers and producers, working with artists such as Fuerza Regida, Zeds Dead, Dimitri Vegas, and Flyana Boss behind the scenes of production and writing. After working in the music industry for five years, producing and writing music for other artists, the band decided to release their own music, drawing inspiration from bands they grew up with, such as Arctic Monkeys, Twenty One Pilots, The Neighbourhood, Radiohead, and Foster the People. This led to the release of their debut single, “Self Aware,” on February 15th, 2026, which became a massive hit on social media, with over 600K engaging videos on TikTok by the time it reached 30 million streams on Spotify by April 2026. - Genius

Biography

Tension can be a great motivator for a band, and no group has put that maxim to the test quite like Fleetwood Mac, a ’60s British blues-rock outfit that—through a series of lineup changes, stylistic shifts and rocky internal romances—became the paragons of ‘70s Californian pop. Since the band’s formation in London in 1967, drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie have served as both the rhythmic and spiritual anchors for a group that has hosted a revolving-door procession of outsized personalities, starting with Peter Green, the budding guitar god responsible for early hits like “Black Magic Woman” (famously covered by Santana) and the tranquil instrumental “Albatross” (which The Beatles admittedly aped on their Abbey Road track “Sun King”). After Green quit in 1970, the band cycled through different frontmen—Danny Kirwan and Bob Welch among them—while their keyboardist, McVie’s wife Christine, emerged as a female vocal foil. After a relocation to L.A., they welcomed singer/songwriter Lindsey Buckingham and his musical/romantic partner Stevie Nicks into the fold, heralding Fleetwood Mac’s transition into soft-rock hitmakers on their 1975 self-titled effort. But Nicks’ star turns on “Rhiannon” and “Landslide” revealed a darker mystique at the core of their easygoing sound and, as sudden success caused the long-term relationships within the band to disintegrate, their next release effectively invented a new genre: rock album as couples therapy. On 1977’s Rumours, Fleetwood Mac dressed up the bitterest break-up songs in the smoothest, sultriest arrangements to the tune of over 40 million copies sold; the album’s appeal is so universal that it’s been both cited by Courtney Love as an influence and used to soundtrack Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign. But the band were eager to play against pop-star type—1979’s double-album colossus Tusk betrayed Buckingham’s affinity for post-punk, and though it was deemed a commercial disappointment at the time, it has since been embraced as a cult classic by discerning indie rockers. And even as more streamlined ‘80s efforts like Mirage and Tango in the Night reasserted their pop panache, Fleetwood Mac have remained a cauldron of drama and intra-band acrimony, the principal members seemingly coming and going without warning. In the wake of Buckingham’s departure in 2018, the group enlisted Crowded House singer Neil Finn and Tom Petty sideman Mike Campbell. Christine McVie, who wrote some of the band’s biggest songs, including “Don’t Stop”, “You Make Lovin' Fun” and “Over My Head”, died in November 2022 at the age of 79. - Apple Music

Biography

Los Angeles singer/songwriter Gracie Abrams has a talent for cutting to the quick. A song about a breakup’s messy aftermath, “21” opens bluntly with the line: “I missed your 21st birthday.” Another song about finding it hard to move on revolves around the simple admission, “I miss you, I’m sorry.” Abrams’ swift incisions are particularly notable given that her father is director J.J. Abrams, whose television series Lost boasted such ingeniously convoluted plotlines. Born in 1999, the Los Angeles native grew up listening to Joni Mitchell and Elliott Smith, but it wasn’t until she discovered Phoebe Bridgers, at age 13, that she began writing her own songs. She wrote “minor”—about a crush who lived too far away for her to visit before curfew—at age 17. “It was the first time that I’d written a song where I felt like I wasn’t trying to emulate someone else’s sound,” she tells Apple Music. Even Abrams’ early singles display a wisdom beyond her years. Released when she was 20, “21” revolves around the devastating line, “You’ll be the love of my life when I was young”—an elegant example of her knack for turning an idea as simple as “young love” into a complex meditation on life’s changes. “Looking back is unattractive to me,” she acknowledges, yet while preparing her first long-form statement—2020’s minor—she realised she needed to reflect to move forward. “Thinking about what that meant and how the songs needed to exist together,” she says, the experience of writing “minor” as a teen never went away. “It was always in the back of my head. I didn’t want to run away from it.” - Apple Music
