Literally nobody said Ariana was the biggest ally around. Not everything has to be an argument or a competition - it's exhausting and it's derailing threads regularly at the moment.

Afternoon! Excited to be back again this week. Had a listen to the new Ariana song at some point this week. I think it's ok but doesn't feel like a lead single going "ah ariana is back let's go!" Regardless I'll take a break from rein me in at the top spot lol.

Five years ago, Olivia Rodrigo and Ariana (via the 'Save Your Tears' remix) were both in the Top 4 - looks like history will repeat.

4 days ago I'd be rooting for Sam but there is now a Taylor-shaped spanner in the works, come on Ariana!

It for sure feels like it'll be close today. How close who can say but it feels at least a tad more exciting than these last few weeks.

I’m certain it’s going to be Ari with the 6 downloads (which look like they sold well) and the few hours of the additional streaming versions.

Biography

Amid the revival of UK garage, bassline, and speed garage, the Manchester-based artist has emerged as a key force driving the scene forward. His sound fuses gritty UK bass with the singalong bounce of club classics, bottling the energy of mid-2000s bassline with sharp, modern songwriting. Following a string of acclaimed releases – including his What About The DJ? EP on Locked On Records and the viral hit ‘I Don’t Want U’ with Diffrnt on Columbia’s Room Two – Silva Bumpa has solidified his place as a headliner. In 2024, he sold out a UK headline tour and played major festivals like Glastonbury, Boomtown, and Outlook. His fanbase is rapidly growing across Europe, Australia, and Asia, marking him as a rising star on the global circuit. Raised in Sheffield, the birthplace of bassline, Silva Bumpa’s musical journey began with piano lessons and early influences like Aphex Twin, Arca, and Mura Masa. By 16, he was immersed in raves, captivated by the raw intensity of speed garage and jacking house. Backed by underground peers and bassline OGs alike, Silva Bumpa’s sense of community and growing mainstream momentum position him as one of the most exciting names in UKG today. - Sony Music

Rebecca Claire Hill (born 14 February 1994) is an English singer. She rose to fame after appearing on the first series of The Voice UK, auditioning with John Legend's "Ordinary People". She joined Jessie J's team and reached the semi-final of the competition. In June 2014, she became the first (and only thus far) The Voice UK contestant to score a UK number one single when the song "Gecko (Overdrive)" with Oliver Heldens topped the UK Singles Chart. In 2022, she received two Brit Awards nominations, including British Song of the Year for "Remember" with David Guetta, and Best Dance Act, which she won two years in a row in 2022 and 2023. - Wikipedia

Wow some fantastic songs in that 2006 chart! Didn't have enough room for 'Faster Kill Pussycat' as well so shoutout to that as an honourable mention wub

Gonna be so interesting to see who number 1 is one part of me wants a new number 1 (Ariana) and the other part wants RMI to get that longest #1 of the decade because it deffo deserves it now

looking forward to seeing what happens either way i'll be happy

I don't mean to start a whole debate on this but it's ironic when it's coming from a Taylor fan - that's no criticism but she's very much not immune to multiple variants! Pot kettle etc
