Anyone know the record for the most “retro” songs in the top 40 outside of Christmas?

Probably the 2nd week of this year with 10 "retro" songs, 9 Stranger Things adjacent ones

  • Is the rumour true that Taylor is in the new Toy Story film as a doll? I heard she waits for other female characters to step forward and then rushes in to last minute steal their lines? 🤭

Now we're getting gloomy, Bella Kay being foreshadowing to the forthcoming YSPSFAGSIL domination.

Or the week after Michael Jackson's death?

that had 13 of his songs hit the top 40

God, the charts are absymal aren’t they 🤣

Looks like "Everywhere" could go back to ACR next week.

Good, should never have been reset in the first place!

Off the top of my head - 13 Michael Jackson songs returned to the top 40 in the week after his death

But yeah the week gasman mentioned also came to mind for the streaming era

Biography

A content creator who spans every imaginable outlet, Alex Warren stepped out from behind the phone and into the recording studio to introduce his passionate, ultimately chart-topping singer/songwriter pop. By 2021, was crafting quivering, sensitive, confessional pop tunes that slather his open-hearted melodies with layers of gossamer electronics -- the glossy bed provides Warren with an avenue to process the trauma of losing both of his parents at an early age. The California native charted abroad in early 2024 before making his Billboard Hot 100 debut with "Burning Down" from his debut EP, You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1); it charted internationally while reaching the top half of the Billboard 200. In 2025, Warren landed a global smash hit with "Ordinary," topping charts worldwide. It was included on his full-length debut, the international Top Five hit You'll Be Alright, Kid, which added 11 songs to his initial EP. - Apple Music

IloveitIloveitIlove is going to be a classic of this year. In hindsight it will be one of those nostalgic songs.

I agree. Resetting that and Dreams was completely pointless.

I miss the times where songs would stay at #1 for 3 or 4 weeks max, and fall quicker.

I guess we're in the depressing part of the charts. Aka really bloody slow lol.

At least Dreams reached a new peak so I'm not too upset about that one. They should reset The Chain instead of Everywhere!

But... You can't blame us. Blame the public who stream this. Streaming is the majority for this. Extending chart runs and making artists more known for songs that don't even fit them. As for Ordinary, it's not the song's fault it's awful, it's just overplay.
