July 13Jul 13 I think the political tension is lost enough on younger generations. Can't see it being any more tribal than a regular high-stakes match.

These two countries are not fans of each other.Doesn't sound like there's been much trouble in this World Cup from the England fans to be fair. Probably down to the fact, real fans are out there or those with a criminal conviction who go to cause trouble can't get into the US! Don't think the political tensions are there at all, although suspect people will make a mountain out of a molehill this week and loads of faux outrage over any Argentina chants, without being able to see the hypocritical nature of it. Obviously the Faulkand Islands are still a major politically tense, but not sure it's that bad in the football space. Guess we'll see come Wednesday!
July 13Jul 13 There has been reports from Cape Verde and Egypt fans of some Argentina fans being horrible and they will be the majority.Let’s hope that it’s a great game and there’s nothing to worry about.

July 15Jul 15 I was trying to research this earlier but couldn't find a definitive answer.I'm curious to know when was the last time England beat a team ranked higher than them in an international tournament? Because for all of the praise in the past decade we have still never actually pulled off a genuine shock victory against a better team on paper. My guess would coincidentally be Argentina in 2002 but they were shocking at that tournament.
