Very possible although part of me still thinks they'll do something about the Xmas takeover eventually but have been thinking that for a few years now.

And I was also thinking in terms of non-event related songs but failed to specify. I also would like to see RMI take the outright record in an ACR-less landscape where its still got several weeks to go but they may be a bridge too far...

I think/hope so too - otherwise it’ll just be a foregone conclusion that ‘Last Christmas’ will always be the Christmas #1 for however long it’s the favored streaming choice.

It’s an absolute classic but it’s kind of killed the excitement of the Christmas charts and is just repeating when X Factor and Lad Baby achieved it year after year.

There's a chance that whatever rule changes they're (likely) going to make soon will effect Christmas songs even if just accidentally.

Just wondering why my post about a certain forum member who brings nothing but negativity, pessimism and joyless, pointless Now compilation policing to this place every single day got deleted when all it did was summarise the gist of a whole load of posts about them not only from this thread but also countless others over the years.

I mean, it was an absolute pile-on when the resident in-house troll was silenced during yesterday's chart show and it doesn't look like any of those posts got binned off!

I said absolutely nothing that hasn't already been aired by lots and lots of other participants, many times.

Yes, I know he's very good for keeping the conversation going which is great for engagement and the general health of the site but it can get very tiresome.

He literally said Sam Fender's chart rein was "worse than lockdown" and I think that stayed on!

Imagine how insulting that is to people who lost family to the pandemic.

You could say that I've just Hadjinough of all his misery.

You could say I finally snapped and had just about Hadj had my fill of his repetitive bull sheet.
