Last Christmas probably wouldn’t reach number 1 during a sales era because most people would’ve already owned the song whether it’s on single or compilations or Wham!’s albums that they wouldn’t feel the need to buy a song they already own in some form

There is no "it probably wouldn't" it DIDN'T reach number 1 when it was released. Also wasn't on any of those compilation releases or albums as it was a new song and a standalone single when it was released in the sales era.

My response was in relation to you saying you can't wait to see Last Christmas overtake RMI and that RMI probably wouldn't have taken the record in the sales era only getting it thanks to streaming, when neither did Last Christmas it has only gotten it's dues thanks to streaming, aka you're a hypocrite slating the song you don't like for the same thing you praise the song you do like.
