Bloodhound Gang - Ballad Of Chasey Lane

This song is absolute genius but there's no way R1 were gonna touch it, they would have had to censor it so heavily!

My favourite line: "Mom and dad this is Chasey, Chasey this is my mom and dad, now show 'em them titties!" lol

Don't remember that Craig David song at all though, Time To Party?? Pretty sure that wasn't a single so what were R1 doing playlisting it? Or was it cancelled before release or something like that?

I remember it being given a few plays. I think it was just a buzz playlisting from his album which had just come out, rather like the "Tracks From..." we occasionally get now.

Echoing the love for 'Oxygen' 💚

Hi-Gate - I Can Hear Voices

Mandy Moore - I Wanna Be With You

Rollergirl - Dear Jessie

French Affair - My Heart Goes Boom

Vanessa Amorosi - Absolutely Everybody

Sash! - With My Own Eyes

I bought all of these. Hi-Gate I'm quite surprised they didn't play. I know the others were all heavily supported on TV music channels (especially The Box darling Vanessa) so became hits that way. Well, I say hits, only two went top 10.

Was the Big Brother theme playlisted?

It’s chart run is high peaking and quite long (for 2000) so they may have but i can’t remember it myself so maybe it did well due to the tv coverage

9/9/2000 - {4}-8-9-15-26-38-55-73-74-63R(39)-75->11

Big Brother theme wasnt playlisted.

Hi-Gate's top10 hit earlier in 2000 "Pitchin'" wasnt playlisted either, which is shocking cause Hi-Gate is basically Judge Jules, a famous Radio 1 DJ at the time.

yup. found it now. Didn’t list it for Dean last week. having the same trouble for Lost Boys and Eastside Girls. hopefully thisll change once they edit the song

I've been hearing a lot of early 2026 A-list songs as recurrents recently such as 'American Girls', 'Aperture' and 'Raindance'. It would be nice to hear some songs that didn't spend long on the A-list though.

Isn't that normal though? Often a song goes "silver" once it's been on the A List that's why you'll still here stuff straight away even if it's been booted off the playlist in the same week.

Cool, I only started counting from early breakfast. I listen to Jacks show on Sounds so looking forward to hearing that.

Greg James played the Dolly remix of Sabrina Carpenter's 'Please Please Please' this morning.

the ones they are playing as of late from memory are those 3 you mentioned + ‘Midnight Sun’ (remix too but focusing on OG), ‘iloveitiloveitiloveit’, ‘Baby Steps’, ‘Opalite’, ‘Just The Way You Are’, ‘CHANEL’ and ‘Homewrecker’ (edit: oops forgot ‘Stateside’)

also off topic but avoiding double posting, Joy is now finally getting picked up and listed on BBC Sounds cheer
