That was not who I meant x (but yeah I have read about them using AI although afaia it's only for vocals which at least isn't as bad as just being fully AI generated)

(They had another entry before that predated widely accessible AI music so they're clearly capable of making legit music but that's a shame if they're really going so far down the AI rabbithole)

It would be better to introduce a rule banning AI generated songs or their parts, than to notice it, allow it, and then let people shame that person for it.

While it's a good idea, I think it would add quite a bit to the veto research time (I wouldn't trust everyone pre-checking their own entry tbf, there are some lazy b*ches around here /me included/).

I understand the logic here, and I think that the idea is a solid one.

Personally, my view would be that if you’re not prepared to send the track under normal circumstances then I don’t see why you should get special dispensation to protect your AQ streak because you don’t have the confidence to stand behind it. For me it sends the message that an AQ streak or result is the most important part, rather than secondary to the music discovery

Open to all views. The rules I think are due for a small refresh this year after being stable for so long so happy to see what everyone thinks about stuff like this

I do mostly agree. I think some people are „unknowingly“ entering AI, like Chris mentioned above, because it’s not all obvious slop.

Maybe we can tag it as a 25 point offence on the Veto framework and if we find that it’s AI then it goes with the caveat that we will do our best to throw it out but it’s not foolproof

100% agree. Always take the risk. Don’t worry about the streak, being interesting is more rewarding.

And what if you end up sending the less satisfying safe song and don’t get the AQ and it ends up going out anyway? This year more than ever before has shown that risks are being awarded in the results.

if it were me I wouldn’t auto DSQ entries made/assisted by AI but perhaps add a word of warning to the framework that obvious slop is unadvisable and guaranteed to give you a poor result anyway (see the Kylienips entry from last month)

Still toying with a few songs but unsure what I’m gonna send yet so taking my time to pick one
