22 hours ago22 hr WELL… it’s over! ❤️The first text that came through when I turned airplane mode back on was from Lewis saying “sorry about your streak” so at least I didn’t have to read through 12 pages to reach my fate (I did go through them all on the taxi home though Nelly, and the layout and graphics were wonderful!).I’ve become really quite attached to my streak over the years, I’ve rarely ever won an award on Buzzjack and don’t really consider myself a main character and never really have been, so it’s felt a bit like my legacy? So it’s a shame to see it end but this is probably the easiest way - I genuinely did know from the minute I checked the thread that it was almost definitely not going to happen. And that’s just the way it is, probably better than something I didn’t see coming like Jessica Winter or Mae Muller who scraped in.I don’t think I’d necessarily have had an easy ride in the first semi realistically - it wasn’t a competitive song and I’m not delusional about that. Though I am a pessimist, I do think I’m very realistic with my own entries - I’ve predicted several of them top 5 this year and it came true so I’m not just a Cody. INFACT, I actually screenshotted this when the first post was put up because my sixth sense was telling me I had 33-38pts. I was going to post it but thought it’d be a bit embarrassing for me if I was actually last.Truth is, for the second contest in a row, I lost my planned entry (OUTTASIGHT by MISSU, so rooting for you Elgornio!) and unlike last contest where I lost my top 3 options, I didn’t really have anything that felt like the one this time. So I’m glad I went down with something I genuinely love and has stood the test of the last 12 months for me than something I couldn’t get behind. Would be interested to know if OUTTASIGHT could’ve survived such an alt semi too tbh?GAGGY that I brought Leww down with me - I know I’d have been clapping my hands with GLEE if I were hosting this contest because I love a good talking point and this is a good gag! Thanks Dobago for demoting me from public enemy no 1 to no 2 within 5 minutes!I thought “Wax & Wane” making it after 0/4 Q predictions was quite something but this one made it to 0/5! That plus being in a 2/4 situation with Aeroche and Hendinia and it’s hard to fancy your chances.I think we were definitely a beneficiary of the draw as I realise the track’s appeal won’t be all that broad. Thank you for the votes anyway! <3 We won’t expect much in the final but it’s great to be there again.And many commiserations Leww and Rob, and congratulations for how far you did take those streaks.
