But I immediately think a 4 to 5:45pm time is what they have to follow - thus it's more the best of 40 to 11, and then the full Top 10. It's very much like how the early part of JK and Joel's era of hosting was on singles section, the best of 40-21 and then full Top 20.

I know this, but that doesn't mean they can't make different (better) choices for which songs they do play. The runtime isn't the reason most of those songs got skipped, it's the production choices (lack of clean edit aside for Season 25).

I wondered if I was hearing things when he said "Pink". He said it so fast as if he didn't want to acknowledge it, then skipped. Is that because of what's recently happened?

imagine going back in time fifteen years and telling fun. fans that Jack Antonoff would be a household name while Nate Ruess would be largely remembered for a feature on a P!NK song...

Biography

Sienna Spiro delivers dramatic ballads with poise and a rasp that belie her years. Like many aspiring singers, the London native put in work interpreting songs on social media, and unlike most, her work quickly paid off in a sudden burst of success with original material, including the minor 2024 U.K. hit "Maybe" and the debut EP Sink Now, Swim Later. Visitor, her first album, followed in 2026 with the sweeping Top Ten single "Die on This Hill" among its handful of charting previews. - Apple Music

Malcolm's 2025 album has a higher user score on Album of the Year than Audrey's btw (and the 2024 mixtape that 'Earrings' is from is higher than both). x

((His newest album not so much, but he was quite 'fan acclaimed' before that))

Don't love the timing of giving P!nk a chart revival lol but 'Just Give Me A Reason' is a song that's held up shockingly well to overplay imo, I actually probably like it more now than when it was first charting.

Biography

A sensitive troubadour for the age of social media, Sombr places equal emphasis on sound and soul-baring lyrics. "Caroline," the viral hit that helped the singer/songwriter escalate from indie status to a major label while he was still in his teens, relied on cinematic vistas and rolling harmonies as much as his dramatic vocals. By the time he released the EP In Another Life in 2023, Sombr was collaborating with Tony Berg -- a producer known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers and Michael Penn -- and opening up his music in ways he continued to explore on the 2024 single "In Your Arms" and his 2025 Top 40 hit "Undressed." After landing another Top 40 hit with "Back to Friends," he made his full-length debut in 2025 with the breakup-themed I Barely Know Her. - Apple Music

Radio 1's overplay has absolutely killed this for me.

Malcolm Todd is great, it's just Buzzjack rooting for females.

I don't think I've read any positive comment from you today.

Was hoping Sombr would climb. Rein Me In back in the top 10 (but probably not next week) ♥️

Makes sense cos sombr is a versatile but yet stereotypical indie rock type.

Biography

Sam Fender crafts the kind of tenacious anthemic rock that punches straight at the gut. Born and raised in 1994 in the northeastern English town of North Shields, the singer/songwriter first picked up a guitar at age 10 and began playing gigs locally as a teen to help support him and his mother. But it wasn’t until he started writing music for himself—rather than what he thought others wanted to hear—that everything started to click. That’s when he wrote his 2017 debut single, “Play God”, a propulsive, politically charged slice of indie rock. It came from a place of deep desperation, “a time where I was like, ‘I need to prove myself. I need to do something that cuts through,’” he told Apple Music. The track earned him a slot on BBC’s Sound of 2018 shortlist, which led to a deal with Polydor Records and the release of his acclaimed 2019 debut, Hypersonic Missiles, an album that channels modern-day anxiety through heartfelt heartland rock. His 2021 follow-up, Seventeen Going Under, hit even harder, pumped full of soaring arrangements and bold statements that continue to prove Fender’s power as a mighty millennial voice for the working class. - Apple Music
