Malcolm Todd is great, it's just Buzzjack rooting for females.

tbf lots of my fave albums were made by men, for me at least it's just that I'm really not a fan of Malcolm's specific sound/style although I can absolutely see why people like it

Finally! Just #41 remains for the 36-100 sweep then.

imagine going back in time fifteen years and telling fun. fans that Jack Antonoff would be a household name while Nate Ruess would be largely remembered for a feature on a P!NK song...

  • Going to need Tame Impala and co.'s collaboration with Justice to make the chart next week <3

50 top 10 weeks for Rein Me In !!

Only Last Christmas ( 51 ) and All I Want For Christmas Is You ( 53 ) currently ahead.

Of course if those Xmas classics don't count, it's within distance of the most weeks in the Top 10 record.

where's the Michael rant about hearing that P!nk song in the supermarket

although it's not exactly the screechiest song in the chart when Alyssa Grace is still here

Biography

Olivia Rodrigo recognises that the yearning, melancholy aspect of her love songs is key to their intense emotional appeal—beginning with 2021’s weepy smash, “drivers license”. “I think that grounds it in something real,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in 2026, “and that’s why we resonate with those types of songs so much.” Born in 2003 in Murrieta, California, Rodrigo juggled childhood lessons in piano, voice and acting before starring in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and eventually turning to pop music with an abashed passion for seething ’90s alt-rock. Rodrigo was only 18 when she released her debut album, SOUR, a breakup record with a meticulous rage: “Where’s my f***ing teenage dream?” she wondered on “brutal”, the album’s Elastica-recalling opener. GUTS followed in 2023, with Rodrigo and repeat producer/collaborator Dan Nigro placing her pointillistic lyrics in an expanded sonic palette that incorporated influences from off-kilter ’90s acts like The Breeders and B******e Surfers. In the same 2026 interview, she described each of her albums as a journey of self-discovery—including that year’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. Observing that it’s the first album she’d made as a woman in her twenties, Rodrigo hinted at how she traded angst for joy on several tracks. But even then, there should still be enough visceral realism to keep fans poring over every lyrical detail. - Apple Music

But for The Cure, it's occasionally 1tro, verse, verse, chorus, bridge, build, final chorus, short outro

I hope this can climb to the heights of Great Expectation or even close, it's stunning!

Plus my comments about Hey Everybody and The Fate of Ophelia... ???

If you hate negative comments, I beg you don't go in the Friday Chart Predictions thread most weeks 😅

I could also make negative comments about Rein Me In/The Cure/Choosin Texas but I'm too late lmao

I don't massively stan him tbf (I do like 'Earrings' a lot and generally enjoyed most of the other songs I've heard from him too but I accept the criticism that he's basically an off-brand Steve Lacy) but I feel the need to defend him from the constant posts insisting Audrey is so much better when I think it's her music that is pretty awful oop xx

Biography

Steeped in classic country, contemporary pop, and rootsy Southern rock, Ella Langley's songs showcase her unfiltered songwriting and gritty yet honeyed voice. While scoring hits like 2022's "Damn You," the Alabama-raised singer/songwriter penned Elle King's similarly outspoken "Out Yonder." Langley's banner 2023 included the release of her EP Excuse the Mess -- which featured the singles "Country Boy's Dream Girl" and "That's Why We Fight (featuring Koe Wetzel)" -- the Tanner Usrey duet "Beautiful Lies," and her Grand Ole Opry debut, all of which led up to the 2024 release of her booze-stained debut album, the Billboard 200-charting hungover. It included her Hot 100 Top 40 debut, "You Look Like You Love Me" (featuring Riley Green). She returned in 2026 with the Billboard 200-topping Dandelion, featuring her viral hit "Choosin' Texas," a song co-written by Miranda Lambert. - Apple Music

fair enough, I can absolutely see how Aubrey's music could be insufferable for some people in the same way much of Malcolm's stuff is for me!

Really hope Boston is on ACR, it overtaking Texas isn't a good sign though

is it goodbye to Choosin Texas ?

It has had a great run and I'm glad it got it's week at the top.

Biography

Despite an appropriately twangy stage name, Stella Lefty would seem like an unlikely presence on the country charts -- at least, before going viral in 2026 with her surprise hit "Boston." Lefty released a handful of tracks the year before (including the Tragic, Really EP) that flirted with more traditional, organic pop influences. But the singer has cited inspiration from Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus and even Keith Whitley, which made the acoustic guitar-and-banjo-driven mini-breakthrough "Thinking 'Bout You" a fair evolution toward something different. After releasing another catchy country-pop tune, "Slow Dancin'" (and a moody outlier, "The Kill," from the soundtrack to Scream 7), it was the mere chorus of "Boston," inspired by a romance blossoming between trips to Nashville to work with fellow songwriters and interpolating Noah Kahan's Top Ten "Stick Season," that inspired a frenzy on social media. - Apple Music
