Tate McRae's Housewife is #1 on Spotify with 441k streams! 😲 expectations (Remix) is #5 (369,685) with the original at #24 (211,331) - combined she'd be over 580k!! full Fontaines album in top 40 -

  • There's also both Russ Millions and Tion Wayne on Body, and Interplanetary Criminal (in collaboration with Eliza Rose), and not forgetting... Captain Tom Moore

Lies is #1 on US Apple Music.

could it pull an I Remember Everything and get that Hot 100 #1? (probably not given Apple's Zach's strongest platform + Tate & Olivia do much weaker there than elsewhere but still...)cheeseblock

Oh wow, I hope Zach and Lana smash it stateside, Lana deserves a No.1 hit to her name somewhere. Turning into quite the week for releases, hopefully there's some more big drops to come the next couple of weeks.

Hoping Expectations can hold up well the next few days, would be great for Chappell to keep her top 10 streak going.

There’s a few more:

The Kunts/The Krown Jewelz

Maneskin

The Beatles

Linkin Park

Am I missing something? This was about bands making their top 10 debut in the 2020s.

The Beatles and Linkin Park should not be on the list as they had earlier top 10 singles.

Måneskin would in my opinion be the other main additions particularly as they’ve had moderate success across a range of titles in addition to top 10 singles - and they therefore fit with the two bands mentioned in previous posts.

Ah yeah, I missed the word “first”!

I imagine there’s several other rock bands that may not have had it make the Top 40/10, but have had singles certified gold or platinum for the first time this decade.

A lot of those artists tend to stream well over time.

Fontaines themselves have multiple platinum hits from this decade - Starburster, Favourite and I Love You - none of which made the top 40!

Maybe ‘Roman Holiday’ as well.

Roman Holiday is only certified Silver at the minute!

Fontaines number one on Spotify artist chart, this is gonna be massive!

Just from a little research, these are the first bands to come to mind that achieved their first Silver/Gold/Platinum singles this decade: Inhaler, Beach Bunny, Architects, Wunderhorse, Wet Leg, The Last Dinner Party, Wallows, Nothing But Thieves, Ghost, Bad Omens, The Rare Occasions. Certainly not a full list though!

It always happens that we get a big shake up happening all at once! Excited for the charts this week for once and seeing some freshness injected!

full Fontaines album in top 40 - including positions #8-#11 (highest debut was 328k)

Lies debuted at #12 with 283,530 streams - looks like Zach's Apple Music wasn't too much of an overperformance after all! ❤️

big debut for KETTAMA X Prospa as well at #20 (Think of You, 241k streams) and a jump for Stop The Wedding! with nearly 392k streams!

busiest week I've seen in years (that isn't just one artist's album bomb) - I used to pray for weeks like this! cheeseblock

Why can't every week be like this ♥️ Kettama and Prospa new at 20, Justice at 49!

Omg yessssss Tate!!! Would love her to get a long overdue #1

Really thought it was Expectations to lose. Watch Taylor ruin it and she has some further shenanigans up her sleeve.

expectations would still be comfortably leading by 140k+ when the two versions are combined but Tate looks to be holding up better on her second day

Oh yeah of course haha, could hopefully make for an exciting battle at the top!

I hope Taylors team just stop with the bs - I don't think they have any physicals left? I could be wrong.

So nice to see some new entries making big impact but of course, this is only day 1 - let's hope we don't feel super deflated by tomorrow's update tearsmile

Ooh ‘Six Shot Morning’ was Fontaines’ highest song on Spotify in the end! I guess it has benefitted from being track 1 on the album. Pleased they’re doing so well this era, Dopamine Chamber is amazing 🖤
