A very standout top 5 here completed by two glorious walls of noise and Pavel's redirected entry which reminded me a bit of Baiuca (yay for bangers from obscure regional west European languages).Lots more songs I'd have been happy to vote for here so commiserations to Anthony Naples, Songs: Ohia, D.Dan, lene 3000, Swordes, Kassie Krut, IST IST, Open Reel Ensemble and Kelsey Lu.The Prostitute album came out in 2024 but I missed the hype for it at the time, happened to see a couple of Reddit posts about it recently which convinced me to check them out. I was originally going to send 'All Hail' which probably would have been a bit more wide appealing, a pretty straightforward Maruja-esque banger:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39ptXZCf61o(can't embed it as the video is age-restricted x)Ultimately decided to switch to the tougher sell of 'Senegal' in part because of the music videos - the video for 'All Hail' makes heavy use of AI generated imagery and while I buy that it's done for artistic purposes it still leaves a little bit of a bad taste in the mouth, I wonder if it was maybe intentional on their part that the video for 'Senegal' goes aggressively in the opposite direction being basically like a classic Newgrounds stick figure animation. It's a very charming if gruesome video and I also grew to really love the song after a few listens. Unknown Pleasures seems to be my outlet for heavier song contest entries in recent years for some reason (I don't do it intentionally!) and this song reminds me of a more brutal version of IDLES, nasty and intense but with a few brief moments of calmer clarity that give the song a bit of beauty.Souls in single fileRising up to heavenAnd for you I would concedeIf only just to see youAnd if only you would come downHope some of you enjoyed xLeaderboard after Bror's votes:RANKUSERNAMEARTIST - SONGTOTALVOTES20s15s12s01Chez WombatPISS - blocking a scene you can't remember2422065002Jadeotay:onii - Tears Won't Tell2021762003blacksquareLene 3000 - Body Language1731723204awardinaryTwin Tribes - Cauldron Of Thorns1391702505FrankLuckMaria & The Mirrors - Travel Sex1281414206SabrewulfCLARAGUILAR - Ros Elavy1151611207paviCocanha - Remenanuèch1071310308FreezeOpen Reel Ensemble - Magnetize1021402009Addy!SIERRA VEINS X Ghost Dance - Memory Cells991210110jimwattsJoone, Kat Koan - Burned In Time971212111SceneKelsey Lu - Running To Pain951401112CodySwordes - Eat Ur Heart Out921311013King RolloVenetian Snares - Fluff Master861411014mattoOval - Over841400015uhstingAdam Peters - Topanga731211016AllStarBySmashMouthHYUKOH & Sunset Rollercoaster - Aaaannnnteeeeennnaaaaaa72810317lewwUffie - Poolside Goth71911018HarveAnthony Naples - Uforia2701210119nine¾Lavina - this, too, will pass.701001020Julian_Broadcast - Echo’s Answer661111021angela - Spiral65720022SeverinIST IST - I Am The Fear64910123dhweTotal Wife - make it last64800224DobboD.Dan - Post Kyiv63701125gooddeltaWet - Swinub61910126Jaz13musicKassie Krut - Hooh Beat551001027Tiny Habits - Love Ruins Everything54710028seven.Gumshoes - City Lights53601129BrorProstitute - Senegal52900030NocheLunaFESTPLASSEN - Luftslott51901131DaTiltGrad_U - Ev-448610132Songs: Ohia - Lioness44700033Viper*Pinkshift - i’m gonna tell my therapist on you37600034JSGJordan Hunt - Between Worlds36600135J00prstarDaddy Was A Milkman - Swim27400236Love Rarely - Will195000

2 hours ago2 hr I did say I liked industrial site noise I was originally going to send in Farewell Transmission as my Songs: Ohia pick but decided to go with Lioness instead as it felt more likely to be "unknown" given Farewell Transmission (and The Magnolia Electric Co. as a whole) generally get a lot more attention/acclaim - that track probably would've done a bit better given it's a bit less heavy on the slowcore ambience but I'm honestly just glad I didn't finish in last

1 hour ago1 hr Thank you for the last minute points Thank you @matto through hosting through your personal circumstance, hope everything gets better for you And thanks everyone for having me and letting me take part in my first Unknown Pleasures after 35 previous editions
1 hour ago1 hr thank you to @matto for managing to host this in spite of everything going on, as others have said I hope things get better for you ❤️
1 hour ago1 hr Big thanks to Mattias for being an excellent host. Thanks for the votes for Twin Tribes.
1 hour ago1 hr My love affair with 19th this year continues! (Low key i did think this would perform similarly to my last entry and it went as far as to match it exactly!) Just like with the last Nuggets it was looking ROUGH at one point so to rebound to nearly top half we will certainly take.Congrats Chez, absolutely no words for that piece of music. Very few songs ever have had such the emotional response I felt (goodness knows how anyone who has been through such an ordeal would react to it) and I'm not surprised it absolutely smashed it. A perfect entry for Unknown Pleasures. Great runner up as well that would probably have won in many an other edition.
