Spinoff show Hollyoaks Later had a decent start for E4 last night (Monday), drawing 743k (4.8%) to the channel in the 10pm hour.

The five part series, which follows Craig Dean (Guy Burnet) and sister Steph (Carley Stenson) on a remote holiday in Scotland, is being stripped every night this week on the digital channel. A further 166k (2%) watched an hour later on E4+1.

 

Later easily toppled the return of Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Bauer in 24: Redemption. The two hour TV movie pulled in 378k (3.1%) for Sky1 from 10pm.

It also beat BBC Three's EastEnders repeat, with 704k (4%) from 10pm, and ITV2's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now!, which managed 424k (2.7%) in the 10pm hour (+1: 73k, 0.9%).

 

Hollyoaks delivered 1.7m (7.7%) to Channel 4 at 6.30pm, then 806k (4.1%) to E4 at 7pm (+1: 105k, 0.5%).

So nearly almost 1m (900k) made it to Hollyoaks Later and the main show judging from these figures receives over 2.5million a night (the E4 and C4 versions of the same episode figures added together).

Oh and i thought the late night ep was bloody great, will continue watching.

Good ratings then - Hope they continue - Hollyoaks really is the best soap going at the moment

I love in the late night episodes that they can actually swear. In the normal show, when characters are insulting each other, it's so unrealistic and so in the late night ones it's really unexpected, like when Mercedes called Zac a dick yesterday. :lol:

 

And what is Niall going to do with Tom?! :o

The final scene had me on edge so much. Brilliantly done for Hollyoaks I think, best episode in a long time too.

Good ending! I wish Hollyoaks would do more of these late night shows as they are way better than the early evening shows.

Think I need to watch these on 4OD tomorrow - they are on there right?!

They often shoot two endings for dramatic storylines like that.

 

They filmed too endings- one where Niall killed himself, and one where Craig was pushed off by Niall.

 

However, I doubt they would ever kill Craig off.

 

Carley Stenson is seriously one of the best actresses to appear in a soap. So underrated.

They wont kill him off.

 

The Craig/JP storyline was much bigger than Niall's. They'll keep him alive incase Guy Burnett (and James) want to make a return.
