Then why are The Travelling Wilbury's #1 in the Album Chart; Why have the likes of Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas, U2, Jack Johnson, Corinne Bailey Rae, etc covered John Lennon songs for a charity album; Why have the likes of Oasis, Razorlight, Kaiser Chiefs, Stereophonics, Travis, The Fray, Magic Numbers, etc & reforming for the first time in 3.5 years the Libertines recording new versions of songs from the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's album?

The answer is simple. Because they were the best. To think it has taken Maroon 5 longer between recording their first and second albums than it took the Beatles to record their debut single "Love Me Do" & their seminal album Sgt. Pepper's (in otherwords 8 albums in 4.5 years).

I'm confused its gone up, it should be a new entry

Hear Hear.

To rubbish the the Beatles contributon to music today is ridiculous.

Hopefully Kelly isn't top 10 with her rubbish.

Coming from the person who likes M.I.A :kink:

I hope Kelly Clarkson isn't in the top 10...as much as I love her....her new album and single are $h!t!

Nothing compared to the old album. :(

Timbaland is already acknowledged as one of music's most inventive and distinctive creators. The first single to be taken off his forthcoming album, 'Shock Value' is the infectious track 'Give It To Me'. The tender and heartfelt 'Books From Boxes' comes hot on the heels of the A-listed Top 10 smash hit 'Our Velocity'. Once again, Maximo Park fans are treated to more exclusive tracks and previously unheard versions across the B sides. Gracing the CD single is their alternative take on The Proclaimers’ '500 Miles' - recorded exclusively for Jo Whiley’s Live Lounge last month. So adored, it lit up the Radio 1 switchboard with requests for the cover version to be released. Backing the second 7" is 'Don McPhee', continuing the series of songs inspired by Paul Smith’s fascination with peoples’ lives as he reads their obituaries. Don McPhee was a photographer for The Guardian whilst 'Mary O Brien' on 'Our Velocity' was Dusty Springfield’s alter ego. These celebrations of individuals’ lives are set to guitarist Duncan Lloyd’s folk inspired, home recorded tunes, and there’ll be more tributes to follow. - HMV

I predicted last night that Kelly would be at #11, so I hope i'm wrong.
Well, Kelly's single kept moving up the iTunes top 10 so downloads must've kept getting better throughout the week too. I'm betting she's top 10 and she might've even done better than just #10!
