Well, after Fearne and Reggies new chart show, seems opinion is divided. They missed several songs from the Top 40, and only mentioned them in recap.

 

They have been putting in 'features' instead and not playing some songs from 40-21 (even not playing a climber from Aly & AJ). So, which would you prefer? The Wes style, with playing them all in full? The JK & Joel style, with missing out songs but saying what they were, or do you like Fearne and Reggies approach so far?

I wouldnt like the whole top 40 being played, but I did like the old style where they missed out some songs but told us what they were.

Play the whole Top40.

 

That way, no personal preference, playing a faller that is on the Radio 1 Playlist & missing out a climber/New Entry that is not = annoying.

Play the whole 40 stupid skanks.

 

If they still want to do competitions and interviews they can easily fit that into 3 hours.

 

Seriously $h!t40UK used to manage competitions, interviews and all 40 songs as well as ad breaks, a dvd chart and an album chart as well back in the day. -_-

 

Radio 1 are just lazy.

 

 

Oh and Reggie and Fearne suck.

Not as bad as the other two but still awful.

people don't go out buying singles or sit at their PC downloading them, to sit down, wait, and not know whether it's in the chart or not. Then half an hour later getting a 3 second clip in a recap. What a dire way to do the CHART! Not retro show, not the chart battle show, but the OFFICIAL TOP 40. I wonder what the OCC makes of the exclusive licence holders for the revealing of the chart missing half of the 21-40 out -_-

2nd option. I'm not against missing a few songs, but definitely not missing out a climber, that's just stupid. And all songs should be stated at their position regardless if they play it in full or not

They should play new entries, large climbers and the top 20, with more chat and sales info etc

Wes did not ever play the full top 40. The last person who played it in full, was Mark Goodier. The question is do we want a chart countdown or a chat show? American stations have always played the full chart. When I was recently in hospital, in the UK, they played the whole top 50 in 3 hours, and also rundown the 75 - 51, and played a couple of tracks from that. The chart show is about slickness, not stupid rabbit and competitions, its nonsense.

If they want to chat, why not have chart show chat at the very end of it? By then anyone with any sense will have switched off. Both radio 1 and independant chart shows are just c**p.

Bring back JK and joel. Missing out songs throughout the top 40 has put me in a really bad mood. Useless!!

:o Shocking. I was surfing the net whilst listening to the chart and i kept thinking i had missed songs somewhere or that Fearne & Reggie had got the positions mixed up. This was more a chat show than a chart show. They made me laugh sometimes but chart show presenters they are not. Bring back Mark Goodier !! ;)

:huh: Also, for those people who cannot afford the internet or Sky channels, the only music channels they get are the hits & the box which play the same sort of music all of the time. The chart is a good way of getting smaller artists music heard and so should be played in full. :)

They didn't mention about 5 or so songs at all at the time, but did in recap after (they were from 21-40) Also, they didn't play Aly & AJ (a climber), chatted alot, and still only announced the album Top 5..

Let`s all e-mail radio one and tell them we want to hear all 40 songs in the chart, not just 33, of `em!! Lets see if they will listen to us (the listeners)...See the thing is, on Monday evenings BFBS Radio 1, play them all in just 2 and a half hours, its easy and a good listen..shame it doesnt go out on a Sunday...coz they are on Sky Digital.
