Posted October 16, 200718 yr ================================================ ###HOT VIDEO OF THE WEEK### Leona Lewis - Bleeding Love sF84pIhP5UM ================================================ Stereophonics pin their hopes on another number one album 16 October, 2007 Source: MW Stereophonics’ first album since Universal’s reported £7m takeover of their record company V2 is poised this weekend to give the Welsh band a fifth UK number one album. Early sales reports indicate the newly-issued Pull The Pin is presently outselling the current number one and Stereophonics’ closest challengers, Change by Island signings Sugababes, by more than two units to one. Polydor’s new Eric Clapton retrospective Complete, which debuted at two on the chart last Sunday, is aiming for a second successive week in the top three. Outside Stereophonics, only Warner’s REM are expected to make a Top 10 debut this coming weekend. Their return to the chart comes via their first live album, appropriately called Live, while lower down the chart a busy week for new album releases will result in chart entries from acts including Interscope/Polydor’s Jimmy Eat World, EMI Records’ Roisin Murphy, RCA Label Group’s Jennifer Lopez, Polydor act The Hives, Universal label W14’s Alison Moyet and a Warner Music TV pairing of Jools Holland and Tom Jones. Three other artists are also likely to make Top 40 debuts: Underworld via their own self-titled label, a UMTV Paul Anka set and Atlantic signings Matchbox Twenty. The predicted conclusion of Sugababes’ run at one on the albums chart after just a week should be compensated by About You Now spending a fourth week at number one on the singles countdown. Its closest challenger at present is the Mark Ronson/Amy Winehouse pairing on the Columbia-issued Valerie, while the latest Sony BMG Elvis Presley re-issue, Wear My Ring Around Your Neck, is presently occupying a top-three position in the midweeks but is likely to drop down the rankings by the time the final chart is published. Mercury act The Killers are among the acts on course for double-digit chart climbs following the new availability of a physical format. Their single Tranquilize is poised to rise from its current chart position of 49 into the Top 10, while other double-digit climbs are likely from acts including 14th Floor’s Wombats, Polydor’s Timbaland and Mercury signings Orson. ================================================ SELECTED VIDEO OF THE DAY Britney Spears - Gimme More m3ceCMpPJgc ================================================ Full Update Singles 01 Sugababes - About You Now 13k http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wTUYgSJ5niQ&feature=bz303 02 Mark Ronson feat. October 16, 200718 yr I wasn't sure if Britney was available! :o Would like to see Suga's holding for a 4th but would be amazing if Britney could pull it off! (Don't think she will though) :( Can't have it both ways!! <_<
October 16, 200718 yr id rather have Britney number 1 maybe even Amy But I reckon Sugababes will hold on :)
October 16, 200718 yr i reckon the babes could still do it, coz britney is only at 47 on the pop chart
October 16, 200718 yr Yeah, realistically the Babes will hold, especially with such high sales from last week! :o Can't see Mark Ronson climbing...I reckon a non mover is the more likely.
October 16, 200718 yr I want the sugas to hold- i really don't get the Britney song! If anyone has to knock the Sugas off the top spot, then let Mark and Amy do it- that's a class song!
October 16, 200718 yr Author Realistically Sugababes should hold but with their album out, the single might start to lose interest, rather purchase the album than buying the single
October 16, 200718 yr Britney won't appear in the midweeks for today, she wasn't released to iTunes until today.
October 16, 200718 yr Sugababes will take the number 1 singles crown again, valerie at no2. Take That may be top10 by the end of the week and Britney possibly too. In the albums, I would expect a new number 1 from stereophonics possibly with JLo top10.
October 16, 200718 yr I can't find Take That's new song on itunes. I'm sure i read the download for that was the 22nd with the single coming out 29th? Or am I wrong?
October 16, 200718 yr I can't find Take That's new song on itunes. I'm sure i read the download for that was the 22nd with the single coming out 29th? Or am I wrong? I thought that was the case as well but apparently the download release is Sunday, with the physical release the following day. So it won't be figuring in the charts this week.
October 16, 200718 yr i say sugababes hold at 1-for the last week. Britney and Mark ronson battle for with ida corr at 4 and shayne ward once again slipping just 1 place to 5. hope orson can get top 20 but i'm not sure they will.
