To draw the line in the sand you need to start looking at the transition around the end of 2002 (the last year of the Era of Great Single Sales) and through the subsequent years. You also have to ignore all charity and post-TV talent show associated records. Thanks for that!, appreciated! So looks like Leona will have the highest first week sales since Mad wold at the end of 2003. (Not counting reality show winners first singles ). Yes , amazing figures for Leona and Take that, a much needed boost for the singles charts, made this week something to remember!!. :)

I love her voice when she says 'I Don't Care What They Say, I'm In Love With You' :heart: Also grown on me immensly, I thought it was ok first hearing, but now I love it. it has a depth and emotion thats rare these days. and the high C at the end, which she nailed live, leaves me speechless with admiration.

Erm if you evict EVERY single release from Will Young first album, then you can't count Leona aswell. Still SO impressed by the sales of Will Young first single, over 1 million copies in one week is just unbelievable!
