Hot Pantz: I Want To Give You One For Xmas -_-
I like Tweenies' "I believe in Christmas" :kink:
Waitresses - Christmas Wrapping.

Definitely! That's a xmas classic, always on the radio, yet it never made top 40 here...

Chris de burgh - spaceman came travelling made number 40 in 1985

I think "Spaceman.." followed up "Lady in Red" in '86.

Deserved much higher than 40 though!

Does ANYONE remember Frank Kelly's (Father Jack from "Father Ted") "Christmas Countdown" from 1983?. It was so awful, it was bad!!! I was only 14 at the time but it still haunts me!!

PS It reached 26!

It's also known as "12 Days of Xmas"!!

Brilliant choice http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/grin.gif That and 'Have a Cheeky Christmas' should have been massive :w00t: (I love your Koda Kuma avatar by the way)

Seriously, Mariah's 'All I Want...' deserved to be the Christmas #1 single for at least 3 years in a row. Other than that, I can only think of Alexis Strum's 'I'll See You This Christmas' (even though it wasn't even released), I think it's really beautiful.

I totally agree about Mariah. In my view it's become a Crimbo Standard and should go along with Xmas hits such as Slade, Wizzard, Wham, Pogues etc!! A modern Christmas Classic! :cheer:

Imo 3 of the bes tChristmas songs and best songs of all time have been denied #1.

Mariah Carey, Wham + The Pogues.

Others I can think of:

Sugababes - New Year

Hot Pantz - Give You One For Christmas [Come on this was CHEESE at its best ]

i agree with HotPantz

I was well shocked when it wasn't played in the top 40 that week and I nevr had net access to see where it charted  :(

Christmas 2004 was c**p :/

Agreed Graham...I would also add John and Yoko's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" which also made No.2!

Darlene Love - All Alone On Christmas

Well remembered Simon. That was a great track. I'm sure it was released on 2 occasions but never made the Top 30!

Not wanting to lower the tone but who remembers Fat Les " Naughty Christmas" from 1998??? No.21..Oops!!

I only remember it from about 2/3 years ago when I first got into it, it was played on VH1 and I think the song is so good  I hope it will one day get a re-release.

we should petition to get mariah to number 1 this year. but then can anyone compete with x factor?
but then can anyone compete with x factor?

I don't think so. :(

I think Mariah should re-record the song, once the X Factor is over for good, keeping it almost exactly the same but with a more recent vocal on it and then release it. It should get to #1 that way.

If not, she should definitely release it physically a few years down the line and properly promote it, once the X Factor is cancelled.
