December 13, 200717 yr Kylie's album sold 82k in it's first week and around 60k in it's second week - not huge you say? It'll still be relatively high on christmas week which will equal HUGE sales, and that's before she releases the rest of the singles. Of course sales are good. It's Christmas period... look at the chart positions, and then you can say no, it hasn't been a HUGE comeback so far. Peaking at #4, dropping out of the top10 rather quickly, you can't say it's a huge comeback if you're honest. Plus worlwide chartings are not great neither. Good, but not great. But as you said, it can get big with the next single release (ie if she releases Like a drug or Speakerphone).
December 13, 200717 yr Whilst some of you may have heard of her I think 2008 will be the year Colbie Caillat becomes a household name, her album Coco has loads of great songs and no filler. Loads of scope for possible singles. Just needs some promo or word of mouth etc. Mariah could well get top 3 at Xmas with a follow up next year as a come back. And the Gareth Gates comeback could pick up. Not forgetting that the Beatles chart explosion could still happen when their downloads are made available.
December 13, 200717 yr As for who's gonna be big in 2008 - how can nobody on this thread have mentioned Duffy? She's the artist most predict will be colossal in 2008 - I can only assume Buzzjack members have yet to catch on to her.... she's a huuuge talent. Who's Duffy? (I found something about Duffy Bishop. It's her?)

Legendary artists use to have six number figures on their debut weeks, let alone when it´s released on seasonal time. It´s just decent numbers but nothing remarkable.
December 13, 200717 yr Who's Duffy? (I found something about Duffy Bishop. It's her?) http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=56635 a new singer/songwriter from North Wales who, alongwith Bernard Butler, have mad one eof the singkles of the year in Rockferry - give it a few listens - it's stunning.
December 13, 200717 yr Duffy needs to be huge next year  Amazing! And Janet Jackson (I'm joking -_-)
December 13, 200717 yr And the Gareth Gates comeback could pick up. I do so hope you are right. :cheer: Can I ask why the speculation(I'm certainly not complaining)? Just interested in your view. Thanks.
December 13, 200717 yr No one who has finished there era from 2006-07 seems to be ready to release their follow up to that at least for the first half of the year. I think Lily Allen won't be big in 2008, maybe with some success in early 2009
December 13, 200717 yr If she has anymore songs like Chasing Pavements, Adele I hope. ^_^ Agreed. I love that song. Duffy is quite nice from what I've heard too.
December 14, 200717 yr Leona will probably have 4 or 5 number 1 singles (Meaning 3 or more from her MAGNIFICENT DEBUT ALBUM!)by the end of the next year! Will Young and Dido will Flop - Not Exactly Flop but wont do as well as people think they will! 2008 - People are more interested in New Bands! 2007 was the year for Comebacks! 2008 is the year of Unsigned acts making huge impacts on the Charts! Also - I think Jordin Sparks will do (Not Majorly well) but will do quite well in the UK charts next year!
December 14, 200717 yr Not 100% sure which is why im predicting for her to have success here! lol coz if she does then she will be quite successful over here! And You can pre order her album on HMV.co.uk so i guess so! lol
December 14, 200717 yr Nadia Almada, Fast Food Rockers, Crazy Frog & Cheeky Girls will have big comebacks :P
December 14, 200717 yr If she has anymore songs like Chasing Pavements, Adele I hope. ^_^ Must say i heard that on the box last night and i loved it straight away...i was really surprised because i don't usually like female singers, that's why i thought i was not impressed with Leona [not my thing] but Adele as changed my opinion...love it

I'm sure everyone concerned is far happier with an album that will sell 250k+ by the time christmas is through, than one which makes #1 and sells less than 100k before the second single. And 'In My Arms' needs to be next really, if 'Speakerphone' is ever released it would be a total disaster of a single.
