Melanie is now a Premier Artist and part of Premier Models roster. They have ties with publications like Dazed and other lifestyle magazines. Cool Spice.

Oh I agree I think it's great. The Voice Kids keeps the positive relationship with BBC going which is positive for Radio 2 playlisting which I'm sure she was in talks for a show there at one point? I'm sure that is what has got her the Gogglebox slot too which build relationship with channel 4, then this it's all good for promo for the next album which I'm convinced is coming towards the end of this year.

 

Plus the paychecks are all good for reinvesting into her independent label. Fingers crossed it all leads towards another top 10 album :wub:

If she plays the cards as she did with MC the Album, yes. I hope she ditched all that acoustic and cover stuff. I pretend Reason, This Time and Stages didn’t happen 😂

Melanie has been working with some really cool (young) producers and Biff for her new album. I’m happy she’s not going back to MOR pop-rock. Even if she won me back with Beautiful Intentions (and then lost me again with This Time), I like her doing electro-pop. I hope she dares a bit more.

Oh my, Georgia is fantastic! Her latest album was full of amazing dance-y, electro music and would be amazing to hear her with Mel.

Same! It’s so good. I want more people like Georgia on board! That would be so refreshing!

There is usually a long gap between her albums.....but I just feel now is the right time for a greatest hits.

Me too, I have no idea why she is so resistant to one. I really think a GH for her would sell better as people who liked / remembered her earlier big hits will grab a copy off the shelf which they won’t do with a new album. So many artists release lots of GH’s off the back of just one hit and do well enough Melanie has 3 huge recognisable hits.

She'd have to deal with Virgin if she wanted to include tracks from Northern Star / Reason.

She needs to sort out a deal with Virgin and i guess she doesn't want to.

 

I worry about the track-listing she may choose.

Really like your suggestion actually. I could see her doing a couple more new tracks to go with it, but overall I think her best songs are there :wub:
