I'd like to see it at number one, i like nickleback :)

#2 isn't out of the question I think, but I can't see it being #1.

I don't normally pass opinon on these types of topics, but I'm bemused by it's success. It's horrible, dated, corney insipid Candian pop rock that should be destroyed... It's on par with Basshunter in terms of toilet factor. Nothing surprises me with number ones these days...

I'm glad someone else thinks the same as me.

As 4 me surely no number one for Nickelback! And this is not because I dislike (I DO NOT!) this song - simply Nickelback will never be UK's #1! Tastes are VERY different among people 'bout 'em and as i analyse statistics it hardly means possible ... :( of course unless they do smth amazing and awesome...

 

btw does someone know if they have ever been #1 at uk's official chart? :unsure:

No their biggest hit was #4, now they've outpeaked that.

 

I think the chance is quite slim. They still have a chance this week if Basshunter drops a lot (unlikely) and so does Adele (she already is fast now) and i don't think Kelly Rowland will catch Nickelback up. They have about 20% chance

I see the logic behind the people who dismiss Nickelback's chances I do agree, however I'd say they'll be over 30k this week at No3 assuming they don't take Adele this week, I think they do stand a real chance over the next 3-4 weeks then again who predicted Rihanna's sales would've held up enough for 10 weeks at No1?! :P

 

Looking at the stats of records in the recentish past that have taken an age to get to No1:

I hope my gut feelings are wrong as I canne stand 'Rockstar' but it is crossing over more than anyone expected with very little exposure...

 

I think if it was going to do it, it would've done it by now. It wouldn't surprise me though if it did make it to #1. It's one of those songs that lingers so much that eventually people will buy it.

I like Rockstar its a great song...But #1 seems a bit out of reach

If 'Hey Ya' cannot reach number one, then this certainly shouldn't.

If I remember this record belonged to Jennfer Rush with The Power Of Love in 1985

 

Both of these went on to be Million Sellers

 

It's got no chance at the #1 spot, its physicals are very low, its only surviving on downloads, its not even top 15 physically

No. It's terrible. Everything they've written has sounded the same since their first album God knows how many years ago. The album was panned by pretty much every critic; it amazes me how 2 years from release it's getting attention it does not deserve at all. As much as the buying public suck, I have enough faith they will never let Nickelback have a #1.

 

I'm serious when I say that Nickelback are probably my least favorite group - ever.

I used to love this song but now i must admit it is starting to grate on me a little! I think a few more weeks in the top 5 then it will probably more or less drop straight out of the Top 10! (In my eyes) its reached its peak already and it surprises me as to why so many people download it! Probably because they download it at first love it, play it to many times delete it, then probably buy it again coz its in their head then delete again but then buy again! lol Its one of those records! Where you love it, then hate it, then love it, then hate it and so on so fourth!

 

Rockstar has finally overhauled Adele at the top of the iTunes chart, I reckon it'll be close between Basshunter and Nickelback next week... ;)
