I wish i was in the SF2 to give to Headlock 12 points :kink: :kink:

But i know who i'll give mine 12 :D

I don't do odds this month as i am quite busy :( But the special nation voting taking part every month shows the Eledanese current top 3:

(only SF2 due to the secrecy)

1. Imogen Heap - Headlock [2nd]

2. Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl [3rd]

3. Avril Lavigne - Nobody's Home [4th]

[X]-the placing in the whole participants list.

The 1st place of Eledanese public is the song from SF1 (not I Bruise Easily obviously :heehee: ).

:drama: My odds are :( Never mind... I just hope i can AT LEAST scrape it too the final ^_^

You'll probably get points from me as i loved it...i just don't think many people have the same views as me as to what is a good song and what is not

Dalisska is in the same situation DW.

I'm not going to give any odds right now.....but I will say that I think the Stereotype of what songs do well in this contest is going to be thrown on it's head in this contest. I have this extremly strong, not a feeling but an.....instinct that it will happen.

I can see the likes of Sangria, Ojnoj, Juranaland, Herzebania and Dulpaen surprizing big time.

I don't understand why so many people think Juranaland won't go through, it's not massively popular yet  IMO it's a shoo-in for low top 10 in the final at least.

Apart from 3 countries you think it's more likely everyone else won't qualify than they will in both semis? :o

I don't think it will get through...it's the only song participating that is currently in the Top 40 (Top 30 even) :(

I don't think thats gonna prove to be the problem, the majority of people judge songs on their quality rather than their success. I do think it's not the best son from either Rihanna or Maroon 5 however.

Having said that I DO reckon it'll qualify ;)

Also, most importantly, who's Rich's dark horse? :kink:

I will tell you this once I've listened to all of the songs (that make the final) :P

can't wait :kink:

I'm not keen on that Maroon 5 & Rihanna song at all tbh. I don't usually let the song's current status in the charts effect my decisions, only on rare occasions. ^_^

so why is the mainstream song bad for this contest :kink:

:o:o

I think many people agree that entering a mainstream song that it is obvious that everyone likes is just a "safe" way of ensuring a top ten placing. Doesn't require quite as much thought over choosing the song either.
I never have and never will vote for a recent, popular hit single unless there really is so much $h!te that I have to vote for it! That, and 'classic' songs, I think these contests are far better when using the unknown...

my votes always look different to other voters...it's not that I vote for the 'underdog' as such, I just tend to vote for my favourite newly discovered songs...

I NEVER vote for popular songs, that's a FACT

I'll vote for a recent hit if it's good. =| *shrugs* I gave Don't Stop the Music a high placing when it was entered because it's a great pop song.

Why does it matter if the song is popular or not? Shouldn't it matter if it's good or not? I mean...I agree it would be boring if everoyne just entered what's in the charts (which is why I always try to throw it off a bit - Katy Perry is currently only big in the US, Veronicas never really hit it big, Wynter Gordon hasn't even had her single released), but I look at all songs on a clean slate. If it's good, it gets points. If it's not? It doesn't. Popularity is not a factor pour moi. :o

I was very surprised when 'The Final Countdown' came second in BJSC III actually... it nearly pipped me and the Dixie Chicks to the post as well. :o
