The decision to choose Kate Bush for the eighth BJSC has been met with a very positive response from Bhangra's media. One paper, The Daily Bhangegraph, was quoted as saying that, "it was refreshing to see Bhangra move away from the more 'pop' side of things that we have seen during the last two or three contests." Bookmakers are currently offering odds of around 14/1 for Kate Bush to bring the BJSC crown back to Bhangra, with Priceville's Annie being the present favourite at 6/1.

Carola hits out at Andreas

There appears to be more trouble in the Johnson & Haggkvist camp, as was revealed by a leading gossip column this morning.

The duo, representing Herzebania, appeared on 'Late Night With Jools Herzland' last night, where they performed a selection of songs, including 'Pride (In The Name Of Love)' and 'What If God Was One of Us' but with the notable absence of latest single 'Lucky Star'

"Who does he think he is?!" Carola was overheard saying in response to an interview in which Andreas dismissed the chance of 'Lucky Star' being the choice of song.

"I can't believe he has the cheek to go behind my back and do that interview! He looked so stupid - does he not realise I'm carrying this act? He is living in the past - I'm the future of this stupid contest, I think I know what kind of song will do well."

Andreas Johnson also expressed a desire to perform 'Pride (In the Name of Love)' at the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, one of the songs the duo performed on the show (0.54 on the video), to which his partner scoffed, "If he thinks we are going to go onstage with a performance like that he has another thing coming! He made such a mockery of that song, I was so humiliated. We are going to need to have serious words."

Ooh tension between two of one country's performers eh? :o I'll have a listen to all three songs later!

Actually maybe I'll post them here to see what people think....

Quotosibb officials have announced that Sara Bareilles is going to FSR Rontvia to represent Quotosibb with 'Fairytale' in the eighth edition of the BuzzJack Song Contest. This is a different direction from the last two entries Quotosibb have sent after finishing 24th with Estelle.

We spoke to Sara earlier and asked how she felt about representing Quotosibb. "I'm pleased to be asked to return to the contest. I've already represented FSR Rontvia in the past and won it for them, I hope I can do it again for Quotosibb. I just hope there isn't a backlash from Rontvians, since that's where the contest happens to be taking place this time. I don't want to be booed out of town"

Sara Bareilles won the fourth edition of the BuzzJack Song Contest with her song, "Love Song", beating The Pipettes by 5 points. She isn't the first winner to be asked to perform again - Katharine McPhee won the second contest for Boika with "Dangerous" but when she returned with "Open Toes", a song about shoes, she finished 22nd for Angelicland. We only hope Sara doesn't have a similar fate this time.

Another returning winner has been announced this month with winner of the first contest, former Mdice entrant, Britney Spears scheduled to perform for Eledan. At least one of them will lose their winning streak this time, we know who we want it to be.

- - The Quotosibb Daily

the Rontvians are amongst the most welcoming people in the world and are eagerly anticipating Sara's comeback to FSR Rontvia, and are very pleased that the superstar and idol of many people in FSR Rontvia will be returning to perform in Constarvan. Sara can expect huge support from FSR Rontvia, where Love Song and Little Voice are the biggest selling single and album of the year.
Britney says about the forthcoming competition, Buzzjack Song Contest VIII:

"I'm really pleased with my comeback to the contest, I was absolutely delighted when i won the first contest. I hope i won't have a chance to disappoint Eledan. And of course, i am not hiding that, I am thinking about the winning again"

Johnson & Haggkvist Hold Press Conference

Herzebania's representatives Johnson and Haggkvist, along with their manager Erik Erikson, held a press conference earlier today in response to alleged comments from both of them appearing in the press in recent days.

"Various stories have been circulating in the media recently regarding supposed tension among the act," Erikson commented, "and we would like to say that this could not be further from the truth and to put straight any rumours that have surfaced. I'm sure you will all agree that we have two very talented singers here, who are seasoned professionals, and we are very lucky to have two performers who get on so well together and are such a compatible team. We look forward to going to FSR Rontvia to show them what we're made of."

Andreas followed this by stating, "we hope our fans will look past what has been written about us and see for themselves how well we get on with each other, how much we love what we do, and how excited we are about representing this country together."

"I think what Andreas is trying to say," Carola then said, "is that we hope that our fans will ignore what has been written about us and see for themselves how well we get on with each other, how we love what we do, and how excited we are about representing this wonderful country together. I would also like to extend the friendship that Andreas and I share to all of my fans in Herzebania, and throughout the Buzzjack world, especially in FSR Rentvia, where we cannot wait to spread our music and our love to all."

After a short pause, one journalist asked if there was any progress on the decision of what song the duo would be singing, to which Erikson quickly answered, "we are still discussing it, but it is very much a team effort, and we will have a song soon that everybody is happy with, and all the fans of the duo and of the Contest will love."

"Also, I think what I said a few days back about songs should be taken with a pinch of salt," said Andreas, "and I shouldn't have given anything away!"

"No he shouldn't have," said Carola, "and Andreas would very much to apologise to any fans that he may have misled."

The press conference was quickly rounded off after the duo sang a short clip of their Melodifestivalen song, "One Love."

More news on the Herzebanian competitors as it happens!

HERZEBANIAN NEWSFLASH!!

Johnson and Haggkvist split up!!!

More on this story later....

The vocalist of Phlumptopia's act The Do, Idont Noernem, has released the following statement about her participation in the forthcoming BJSC VIII:

"We are pleased extremely to represent our country in the contest. It makes fresh change from normal poppy tunes we send, and even if we lose, we know we try hard and we will be pleased."

Representatives apologised for the fact that Idont sounded Chinese due to language difficulties.

Kate Nash has spoke about her participation in the BJSC for her country Ojnoj.

I am extremly pleased to be asked to perform one of my songs for them so as soon as i was asked I JUMPED at the chance. I know that I will have a very tough time during this contest as there are some well known acts going in and the acts we dont know are very good. It will certainly be hard to find one particular Dark Horse as everyone pretty much has a chance in this contest. I must also stress this to the Ojnojians that each song will probably need more than two listens to actually clasp hold of the song. I mean last time in the contest in the Semi Finals we ended up giving Sangria just the one point. But in the Final we gave them the full 12 points. So Just pick your points carefully and dont forget although you can't vote for me, I will still love your support more than ever.

Carola to go it alone in BJSC8

After last night's shock revelation that Johnson and Haggkvist have split up and will not be representing Herzebania in the 8th Buzzjack Song Contest, Carola, one half of the duo has said she will be participating anyway.

"I don't need him," Haggkvist told us this morning, "and I think it is hilarious that he thinks this whole thing will just break down without him. Who is he kidding. Everybody could see he was just a spare part anyway. He may have the experience of the Contest, but I have the talent, so his big ego will not be in the way of this wonderful country triumphing in FSR Rutven."

No official word of what song Carola will be singing yet, but she did say that "it will be big. You'll see. I'm bigger alone than I could be with him holding me back."

Some insiders are contemplating the possibility of this being her song :P

ČEKB!TCH - Ček the gossip, ček the b!tches // Little Boots won't be touring!

KOPEČEK BJSC ENTRANT LITTLE BOOTS stunned the country after revealing that she won't be touring ahead of her contest performance in Constarvan later this month during an interview with Čekb!tch's BJSC correspondent Vanja Helensson. Lead singer, Victoria Hesketh, formerly of Dead Disco, was reported as saying, "I want the music to do the talking...with only 2 weeks, I want to make sure that I'm going to give the best performance of my life in Rontvia. How's going around giving half-arsed performances in Crotchistan going to help me at all in that! Rachel [stevens] did that - look where it got her! Front cover of every gossip mag on the planet, calling her the worst thing since...well, ever, and forced her into having to hook up with some Russian prettyboy to try and save her career! No, I'm keeping my dignity - I believe that the song is strong enough to do well on its own without cheap advertising in each country. I don't need any Serebresque 'We love you Rontvia's to succeed thank you very much." Little Boots' song, Meddle, is currently an outsider to win the 8th BuzzJack Song Contest.
