After the Runaway Bride Xmas special when I heard about the casting of Catherine Tate as the assistant for Series 4 of the 21st Century revival, I thought it would be a disaster. But this series finale with the return of Billie Piper's Rose has really disappointed me, as she seems to have been unable to get back into her old Chavish character that was so likeable in Series 1 & 2.

 

Please, please, please lets have Sally Sparrow for Series 5 in 2010.

I agree with TiP, Rose lost her way this time round, and I must say that DONNA is the best :o

Definately Donna, she's so funny! I thought I'd hate her in it when it was announced she was the new companion but I really like her!

I didn't like Rose this time, she didn't do much and with Donna there she didn't have a chance to be as great as she used to be. I don't think Billie was that good as her either. I was really disappointed because I wanted my friend (who started watching this series) to appreciate the greatness of the Tyler but she sucked :lol:

 

That said my favourite is still Rose followed by Donna :D

mine personally is Martha because in all of the episodes she's been in she's been the best in terms of acting

 

having said that, Rose and Donna did come pretty close

I never really saw the fuss about Rose, and her big return was a bit underwhelming. What did her character actually contribute in the end? At least the others did something and tried to help (even though Martha and Jack's plans did kind of completely fail). Mickey and Jackie also seemed surplus to the plot

although you could say Mickey's presence was required as the ending of him walking off with Jack and Martha was obviously supposed to set up the next series of Torchwood

.

 

Donna was marvellous. Tate seemed to have a much better connection with Tennant than Billie Piper; the scene with the clone Doctor mimicking Donna was played out well. They just bounced off each other with ease. It's a shame Donna left the way she did, as it seems to rule her out of any possible future return/cameo.

Martha & Rose equally - as for Donna - no way - I think she's the worst assistant ever apart from Bonnie Langford.

I just can't stand Catherine Tate

rose.... the chemistry betwen her and tennant was rather good. i cant get past tates characters that kept coming out in her parts...

Capt Jack is my fav, though I also like Rose and Martha

My Order:

 

1st = Rose Tyler :heart:

2nd = Martha Jones

3rd = Donna Noble

4th = Captain Jack Harkness

5th = Mickey Smith

 

Donna certainly got better towards the very end of this series :wub:

 

But Rose and Martha are still far ahead IMO :heart:

1. Rose - and I'm surprised she's not storming ahead.

2. Donna - loved her - gutted when she was made companion and her acting skills actually amazed me. She does come close to the Tyler.

3. Martha - only person to like her? Lol. I really liked series 3, perhaps it was the strong scripted episodes by Moffat and Cornell that made her great.

4. Captain Jack - awesome, but not a true companion, not long enough to beat the ladies.

5. Mickey, why is he even listed? Surely is Mickey is then Adam Mitchell should be aswell?

 

 

and can I just say that I think Billie Piper lost some of that chaviness because naturally the character would have matured. I found her just as good towards the end, but thats just my opinion obviously, and I do see where you're all coming from =]
