ATB - 9pm...Till I Come spent six consecutive weeks at No.2 in 1999 and ended up being #2 for the whole year in my chart.

Darren Hayes - Crush (1980 Me) spent three non-consecutive weeks at #2 in 2003 but spent 14 weeks in the Top 10 and ended up at #5 in my year end chart.

I'm sure there have been other big number twos, but I don't have my charts to hand, but I do recall two songs in 1997 that spent 4 consecutive weeks at #2 - two surprising ones - Ultravox - Vienna and Mary Kiani - With Or Without You

my biggest No.2 is Delta Goodrem's A Year Ago Today which finished 3rd in my 2003 end of year chart

however, the No.2 that spent most weeks in that position was Vanilla Ninja's Cool Vibes in 2005 with 5 consecutive weeks in the runners up spot!

This is gonna be hard to work out

Off the top of my head I recall

Adele - Chasing Pavements > That had 4 non-consecutive weeks at #02

Kelly Rowland - Stole > Had 4 consecutive weeks at #02 in 2003

Paris Hilton - Stars Are Blind  > Had 3 consecutive weeks at #02 in 2006

Sugababes - Red Dress > Had 4 consecutive weeks at #02

TaTu - All About Us > 4 consecutive weeks

Girls Aloud & Rihanna both hold the record for me at the minute with scoring the most #02's as each artist has had 6 #02 hits, 4 of Girls Aloud's were consecutive.

^_^ How geeky of me :teresa:

The biggest number #2 on my chart is 'How Do I Live' by Leann Rimes. The only track not to hit #1 and be a 'million' seller on my chart.

Other HUGE #2s include

N-Trance - Set You Free [Held off by Annie Lennox 'No More I Love Yous']

Green Day - Basket Case [Held off by Celine Dion - 'Think Twice']

Wheatus - Teenage Dirtbag [Held off by Atomic Kitten 'Whole Again']

Mariah Carey - We Belong Together [Held off by Kelly Clarkson - 'Since U Been Gone']

Bangles - Manic Monday [Held off by Bon Jovi 'Livin On A Prayer']

All Saints - Never Ever [Held off by Natalie Imbruglia 'Torn']

Alisha's Attic - I Am I Feel [Held off by Spice Girls 'Wannabe']

Savage Garden - Truly Madly Deeply [Held off by Celine Dion 'My Heart Will Go On']

I understand I am VERY sad :(

Britney Spears - Piece Of Me [2-2-5-8-11-13-13-18-20-21-24-25-25-26-24-26-28] - 17 Weeks

Ne-Yo - Closer - [7-7-2-3-2-3-4-4-7-10-11-13] - 12 Weeks (Still Charting)

They are the only ones so far!

I have only been doing my chart since August 2008 and seem to only have the one song to only reach number 2 and spend a considerable time on my chart,

Katy Perry - Hot N Cold (38-35-24-14-9-5-3-2-6-7-6-3-6-8-9-4-12-17-26-31-31-38) 22 Weeks

Hmm, id probably say

Sandi Thom - Devil's Beat, spent 4 week at #2

&

Sonny J - Handsfree

The title of this thread sounds so WRONG.

Nelly still holds the record for longest run at No.2.

Lady GaGa - Just Dance (12-02-03-04-06-11-12-16-17-15-15-04-06-11-13-16-09-15-20-36) [20] Finished at No.12 of 2008 chart.

Kate Nash - Foundations - a couple (3?) of weeks at No.2. UK Chart curse :(

Global Dj's - Sound Of San Francisco - 47 weeks on chart, No.2 song of 2005

Mylene Farmer - f*** Them All - 4 consecutive weeks at No.2. No.25 of 2005 chart.

Amel Bent - Ma Philosophie - No.19 in the 2005 YE Chart.

Tatu - All About Us

I just realised that 2005 had had only about 7 Number 2's

t.A.T.u. - All About Us, Kate Nash - Foundations and Adele - Chasing Pavements <---------- definately!

The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way

James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover

Justin Timberlake - LoveStoned

Britney Spears - Break The Ice

Pussycat Dolls - When I Grow Up

My Top 5 biggest-selling #2s.

My five longest running #2 songs:

Jordin Sparks – Tattoo [19-14-10-05-04-06-08-11-15-17-24-26-32-31-33-37-38-02R(14)-10-18-32-40-OUT] [22 wks.]

Jennifer Hudson – Spotlight [16-18R(5)-11-05-03-02-05-07-09-13-15-23-23-27-32-35-37-31-36-40-OUT] [20 wks.]

Christina Aguilera – Oh Mother [31-22-25-23-18-09-02-04-06-04-07-05-08-11-16-21-30-36-39-OUT] [19 wks.]

Mary J Blige – Just Fine [25-23-12-03-02-02-03-03-04-05-08-08-12-14-17-23-30-39-OUT] [18 wks.]

Alicia Keys – No One [07-04-04-02-03-05-09-08-10-14-17-17-16-21-19-22-32-39-OUT] [18 wks.]

Though I guess Jordin is a big #4 that ended up being a small #2. Jennifer Hudson and Christina are the joint longest runners in one run, though Jennifer Hudson didn't have a great run in the top 10. While looking at this, I realised that two weeks is the most consecutive weeks at #2 (and maybe in total) that a song has achieved without reaching #1 in my chart. :o "No One" is just epic and probably deserved #1. I think "I Hate This Part" could earn a place on this list soon as well.

Alesha Dixon - Breathe Slow has now also got a record of 4 weeks at #02.

"Wonderman" and "Blind Faith" could be future big number 2s - they already hit 2 but haven't passed the test of time yet

The biggest number #2 on my chart is 'How Do I Live' by Leann Rimes. The only track not to hit #1 and be a 'million' seller on my chart.
