Posted September 2, 200816 yr The Saturday's are to release their new single and album next month which to be honest I;m looking forward to judging the great sound of 'If This Is Love' and 'Up.' But do you think they've got the staying power like the big girl groups at the moment????
September 2, 200816 yr I couldn't possibly say, although 'Up' is one of the best songs of the year and should hopefully glide into the top 5.
September 2, 200816 yr I went for the 2nd option but to be honest im dont reallly have a clue what'll happen to them. It all depends on how Up and the album does.
September 2, 200816 yr There is something bland about them. There songs, there style. You hear a GA song and its like, "Oh that's Girls Aloud", same with the Sugababes, and both groups also have there own images. The Saturdays just don't do nothing or stand out to me.
September 2, 200816 yr With the same people behind 'The Saturdays' that launched 'Girls Aloud' then I have little doubt that they are being primed to step into the space of GA when they split/take a break next year  The GA fans are already obsessed with them so they are halfway there to becoming huge
September 2, 200816 yr I put They'll Last A Couple Of Years, don't think theyll ever match what Girls Aloud or Sugababes have done tbh
September 2, 200816 yr I think its not that fair to compare them to Girls Aloud at this point in both of their careers. GA had already been able to shine and put personality into their records at the start because the public knew them from the tv, now 6 years on they've improved so much and have become well loved. On the other hand The Saturdays have almost been thrust upon us without hardly any warning and are only on their second single, its hardly going to get everyone's attention and to make them instantly think 'this is The Saturdays' when they dont even have a sound yet. Their debut album is going to be experimental if you ask me, of the 6 songs that we've heard two are ballads (one RnB), one is an 80's sounding track, one is a mid-tempo RnB/pop track and two are modern pop synth tracks. I think with this album, the variety could appeal to quite alot of people and then with the second (if they reach it) they can finally find and pick 'The Saturdays sound'.
September 2, 200816 yr I voted 'a couple of years', but I think it'll be longer, just that they'll always sell well, not amazingly.
September 2, 200816 yr Im not voting, I think the first album is gonna be a big flop. I reckon they will manage a second album and it will be an even bigger flop LOL.
September 2, 200816 yr a couple of years i reckon there 1st album could do ok but wont hold interest for the second although of course its too early to say......
September 2, 200816 yr The Future is ORANGE Are you trying to say that in a couple of years they'll all be working in tanning salons?!
September 2, 200816 yr I think they will have Phixx like success - be about for a few mid table hits then fade away.
September 2, 200816 yr I think a lot of people are underestimating them. Most people didn't have a clue who they were and their debut single got to 8. Now, you can say whatever you like, but for a pure pop girlband to debut at 8, that's pretty darn good. "Up" is getting an amazing reception, so with some good promo and if radio 1 get behind it, I can see top 5, possibly 1. I voted "Yes, They're going to be huge" because I think the album will be a shocker and do really well.
September 2, 200816 yr I don't think they'll be that successful. You kind of have to be raunchier these days to succeed as a girl group (unfortunately)
September 2, 200816 yr If Up flops even their album will be shelved, if its being released a long time after Up
