Yes. All proceeds are going to charity from purchases made in Boots.
Boots used to have a record department years ago, as recently as the early 90s.
It's happening. Hadn't thought about the OCC-registered issue actually. I assume they are, I doubt the label would want lost sales.
But are they OCC registered, or is this going to be lost sales?

Does anyone have official confirmation that this is happening?

That's what I've been wondering, Boots haven't sold cds for about 18 years, so how are they going to send the sales data to the OCC?

There is no way the record company will alLow the single to be sold for Charity in Boots stores if the sales of the single will not be counted towards the chart - That could potentially be the difference between the band getting a Number 1 or not! I am sure data can easily be submitted via Boots EPOS system to the OCC.
But i thought it wasnt released physically till October 6?
It isnt, 6th October the single goes on sale in Boots and record stores.

i think this is going to be what makes the song go to number 1
It will NOT be no.1, even with this it wont.

Will the casual buyer be attracted to a random charity single in Boots? Is it widely known that the single is for charity? Debateable.

However it does mean the single is going to be more widely available for fans. Perhaps a town lacking a HMV will have a Boots so Sugababes fans will more easily be able purchase the single.

Still it's highly doubtful it'll surpass Pink or the Kings Of Leon!

Quite frankly it's blatantly their weakest and most disappointing lead single in memory so failure to get to no1 should not be a surprise but fully expected!

It hasn't been that long!! They were selling albums up until at least 2001/2002 IIRC. They used to do quite good deals so I got some my Christmas presents there.

Yes it is, but the single will be in Boots then. :D

I don't think the record company really care about it getting to number one, they care about the money. They'd still get a portion of the profits from Boots, even if a portion was going to charity (which is a graet idea :yahoo: )

The song has grown, but it's still their worst. I won't be buying it but it's doing well on downloads so I can see it getting to #1 (something I was NOT expecting 8 weeks ago when i first heard it!)

Can it be considered a charity single though when only some of the physical formats sold donate money to charity? Debatable. If it is though, it's for a good cause so there's nothing wrong with that.
