October 25, 20177 yr I too have combed Iceland Airwaves YT playlists looking for BJSC entries in the past haha (I think that is where I found 'Demons' which I sent to BJSC 70). Really looking forward to hearing this one!!
October 26, 20177 yr Author I too have combed Iceland Airwaves YT playlists looking for BJSC entries in the past haha (I think that is where I found 'Demons' which I sent to BJSC 70). Really looking forward to hearing this one!! Am I right in thinking that this is by an artist called Fura? That contest was shortly before my "big" return but I YouTubed "Iceland Airwaves Demons" lol, and this rather pretty song came up. I could just check the Persephonia national thread but why make life simple when you can be complicated. :magic: This definitely sounds quite Persephonia, probably would've received points from me. Can't believe it has only a little over 1,600 views (at least this version does)! I hope you like my song this time around, but it might end up not being what you expected, eek.

I think the video I sent for it had more views than that (it was an old audio video that got removed and replaced with the music video a while after I sent it) but yes, still deserves more views x I think it's one of my most underrated entries (came bottom 3 in the final oops).
January 22, 20187 yr Author Presenting our entry for BJSC 101, under the rebrand Moonland (The Nation Formerly Known as Deandria). Just Moonland is fine if you prefer :D Whilst searching for an entry that feels right for the current third edition of Worldvision hosted by Taahino, I found several Norwegian songs that hit the spot, this being probably the second one I found that I loved (the first one may remain a mystery within the contest, despite me being almost sure I would go on to send it when I first discovered it haha). Deandria seems to love slightly quirky, alternative-leaning women in music (Poison Ivory, Ecca Vandal, Alvia Islandia and Maya's Moving Castle come to mind, to name a few), but this sounds like a very accessible, light, airy and fun track that I guess you could say draws equally from both "pop" and "indie", with a small amount of quirk that works perfectly. I believe Ine Hoem is actually known as a jazz artist and I can certainly recognize bits of that here. qfTQt_TrVOk Edited January 22, 20187 yr by M.
January 22, 20187 yr Really into your track on first listen, hope it does well for you! Also loving the rebrand ^_^
January 22, 20187 yr Author A bit of hype already, wow, thanks <3 It does feel and sound a lot 'lighter' in a way than some of my recent entries have been and I hope it connects with people, it was a gorgeous find.
January 22, 20187 yr Author If I may double post just a lil bit oops... Forgot to mention that we have also entered the Andra Chansen contest where we have decided to give Noréll's 'Howl' a second chance at success. This rather ~edgy~ track was sent by #00274E back in 2016. We were the only ones to give it 12 points in the semi. Originally the song flopped out of the semi as the highest pointed DNQ, with only 2 or so points between that and the lowest pointed qualifier  Noréll is an artist I have grown to really enjoy other songs by (I even own the digital copy of the 'IY' EP where this song is from, it's a fabulous sonic trip tbh) so it feels right to have chosen this song to give a second chance to, especially considering I've sorta-kinda considered sending a different song by the artist to the regular contest, after how much I liked 'Howl' and indeed, the EP. rnfrSOfymx0 In addition, we have also entered Worldvision III, which I've already briefly mentioned here. We were assigned Norway and we have sent Nils Bech with his "electronic love song", as we have coined it, called 'Trip Abroad'. Quite the beauty with a title that seems apt. We have now entered every edition of Worldvision to date, with Beangrowers for Malta in the first edition and Holdviola for Hungary in edition II. Holdviola in particular was a success (and quickly became like one of my favourite songs of all time lmao, just something wonderful about it, certainly the best Hungarian folk rock song I know at least ;)), achieving 10th place. Can we achieve our sixth top 10 result in a spin-off contest with this? The nation holds their breath ~ 91ZCn1K1XrE
January 22, 20187 yr Is 'Moonland' a permanent name change or just for BJSC 101 to tie in with your current entry? :kink:
January 22, 20187 yr Author Is 'Moonland' a permanent name change or just for BJSC 101 to tie in with your current entry? :kink: i have no idea
January 29, 20187 yr Author We crashed out of the semi in 24th place with 28 points, prompting us to go back to the name 'Deandria' straight away :P Our Andra Chansen entry 'Howl' also didn't do great, coming 27th with 32 points awarded. There's still one more opportunity for success that we're currently waiting for, and that is of course for Worldvision III! We shall see how 'Trip Abroad' does soon enough. Thanks to everyone who has supported Deandria (or Moonland, as we were briefly called) thus far.
February 3, 20187 yr Author Just to note here that Worldvision went okay for us, could've been better, could've been worse. In the end we managed 24th place, in a three-way tie with Flynnonda (who won the tie) and Séyetana, who placed in the middle of us three. Notably, last Worldvision we were also tied with Séyetana, in fact making the top 10 while they just missed out with a song that we didn't give points to at the time, but grew to really enjoy afterwards with multiple listenings. <3 The occasional stats nerd in me thought the tie-break situation was rather interesting: 22 80 Flynnonda // Revolverheld - Das Herz Schlägt Bis Zum Hals (15 votes) 23 80 Séyetana // Inga & Anush - Aprelu April (10 votes; 1 18; 1 15; 1 10; 1 9) 24 80 Deandria // Nils Bech - Trip Abroad (10 votes; 1 18; 1 15; 1 10; no 9s) As for the winner of the contest, it was South Danaelanda representing a country that we happened to be assigned in the first edition of WV - Malta. They won with Crux - Epiphany, which received 15 points from us, so very much approved. <3 I have decided that after BJSC 101 concludes, I might post my entire song rankings for both semi 2 (the semi I was drawn into...again!!1) and the final. I feel like my rankings capture a moment in time but it's not something to be taken as gospel as my favourites can change and the songs move around and in a year, the lists might, hypothetically speaking, look quite different. But they do capture in some way how much I liked the songs while I "lived" with them throughout the contest.
February 3, 20187 yr Intrigued to see whereabouts you'll rank a song that you said scares you :kink: Your last Worldvision entry 'Vágta' came on shuffle for me the other day and it sounded fab, can't believe I only gave it 3 points at the time ~ (incidentally I am also already wishing I gave my 3 pointer in this Worldvision (Aelandor) more points as well x)

This Worldvision's Hungarian song ('After') was one of my favourites this time around, too bad it didn't seem to connect with many people, maybe because it was so sort of low-key. Even you didn't vote for it which I was a bit surprised about. Yea that happens a lot re: points - like I said, favourites change, rankings move around etc. That's what makes it interesting B-)

March 14, 20187 yr Author Deandria are back, in both name and... presence of entry lol. Just thought I'd post this now as I'm currently intrigued to get the contest properly going, for we have entered something very intriguing and so I am intrigued about how intrigued (or not) others will be by it :) x
March 19, 20187 yr Author BJSC 103 time spent in foreign lands is a cure, it seems and it triggered a change in me E1JplpqHkPw Deandria go some kind of... dark synthwave for this contest? Darkwave? Coldwave? Whatever you want. I discovered this song probably up to two years ago on a YouTube crawl I believe, and there was just something about it. The video is a slightly creepy biology lesson-like black and white clip, but it matches the mood of the music rather well.
March 19, 20187 yr I remember thinking this one sounded pretty similar to Dead Husband so yes, darkwave I guess ;o very glad that you have sent this in the end as I remember really wanting you to do so when you played it on plug.
March 19, 20187 yr Ooh that thumbnail is coming back to me after listening to this on plug a lil while ago :o I look forward to hearing it again *.*
March 19, 20187 yr Author *.* Thanks guys, I look forward to hearing your entries too as I don't know either of them.
