October 5, 200818 yr 27 (from 17) McFly - Lies [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/CDSUPR2.JPG Chart Run: 23-4-17-27 [4 wks] Release date: 15-9-2008 Availability: in stock Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: CDSUPR2 Label: SUPERRECORDS UK pop quartet McFly burst on to the chart scene with a fresh twist on the boy band formula, they played their instruments! They wrote their own material! Lead vocalist and chief songwriter Tom Fletcher originally tried out for Busted, but when he was beaten to the position by Charlie Simpson the band's management held further auditions to form a new outfit centred around him. The links between the two bands were cemented when Fletcher contributed material for Busted b-sides, and the two bands toured together in 2003. The invaluable exposure from the tour helped push McFly's debut single, "5 Colours In Her Hair" to the top of the UK singles chart where it was promptly joined by debut full length ROOM ON THE 3RD FLOOR. Follow-up effort, WONDERLAND, matched that achievement and in 2006 they moved into the movies, starring alongside Hollywood starlet Lindsay Lohan in the film JUST MY LUCK. - HMV Video here: -ySZt73Gcw4 track listing 1. October 5, 200818 yr The Dizzee Rascal/Calvin Harris tune has really grown on me. I weren't sure about it at first, but I really love it now. And surprised McFly are sticking around. This must be their longest Top 40 chart run in years :o
October 5, 200818 yr Author I still maintain that this is McFly's best song in years - perhaps that is why it has stuck around more for them - as more than their core fan base likes it?

This must be their longest Top 40 chart run in years :o Hopefully all their songs from now will do as well. At least when they're great. The next two album releases, if they release 2 more, should be deserving enough to stick around.
