Don't forget Will.I.Am.

He had already a couple of hits although with other artists but still those count imo.

I would say: Flobots, H Two O, September (it looks like :( )

Definatly Estelle, poor girl was never going to get another hif from the album though, nothing commercial there at all.

I do feel for Gabriella Cilmi though, Sweet About Me is only something such as 5th favourite from the album for me, i still dont see how she flopped with Save The Lies.

Kid Rock :[thank god]

Sam Sparro

Cilmi

Sara Barellies

Estelle [Again thank god - without Kanye West she'd have never crawled back out of the gutter]

I shall think of more!

You literally took all the ones I'd have said Aly -_-

I don't think Estelle is a proper one hit wonder considering she had a few minor top 15 hits in 2004 and her second single spent two weeks in the top 40 at least. Sure, she's not gonna have another #1/400K seller but I think she has had a few too many other top 40 singles to be considered a one hit wonder.

Sara Bareilles is the only proper one so far with a top 5 lead single followed by a song that missed the top 200 I think. It's weird how a song that was so huge on airplay was pretty much ignored by radio and received little to no airplay, I don't blame people for thinking 'Love Song' was her only release here. -_-

I think Sam Sparro should be the one that people remember for it though as he had the biggest first single.

at least Sara milked Love Song, releasing her album at exactly the right time to give her a top ten album too!

Sam Sparro AND Sara B. had huge impact on both UK and US charts.

I don't know about Sam for sure, but Sara B. was no.1 on Hot 100 for some time. And Airplay and A&C..etc etc.

So, I'd say Sara 's latest are dissapointing an she could be classed as 'one hit wonder'.

I'll go with Mart!n and others and say I hope Leon Jackson gits in the same category - boring, bland, out of tune and jittery performer..

I can't say I ever saw the 'Estelle charm', TBH - 'American Boy' was never going to be one of the tracks I would sell/reccommend to music lovers. But it's probably about taste. So her placing in this list doesn't surprise me.

Gaby Cilmi was another middle-of-the-road act for me, not inspired by her voice and tracks (maybe I am fussy  ) so she is right to be in this list , too.

You do realise Platnum ARE H'Two'O don't you Ben? :heehee:

I don't think they are. It was H 'Two' O feat. Platnum like 'Daddy O' was Wideboys feat. Shaznay Lewis and you wouldn't say Shaznay IS the Wideboys same for the Freemasons tracks. I thought it would be unlikely for H 'Two' O or Platnum to have another success, but Platnum has. :o

I thought they'd just changed their name  I thought Platnum was the guy and H'Two'O were the girls

no, H 'Two' O are a production duo who we don't see, Platnum are the vocal trio who sang the song and also did Loveshy!
But the tracks sound so similar so that's why I thought they just decided to call themselves, Platnum

It was H Two O feat. Platnum, so H Two O can be classed as one hit wonder.. or maybe not?

and I still think Flobots will be a one hit wonders too :D

yes exactly, just like I'd say that DJ Jurgen was a one hit wonder here when he 'presented' Alice Deejay to us in 1999 before they left him behind on subsequent releases
I wish it was Leon Jackson.

Well his future at least is looking pretty dire, 2 hit wonder?...

Yes maybe except for H Two O. Handlebars was never exactly super massive so i guess their next single doesn't really have to do that well.

Agree on all of them but Estelle has had 2 top 15 hits and a minor one this year but i guess she'd be considered a 1 hit wonder since i doubt many people will remember her for Free and 1973, or was it 1980? :P

And Wideboys are also Garagejams...

I hope Ting Tings, Alphabeat, One Republic and The Script hang around for a few more albums, though chances are only 2 or 3 of those will get any more major success despite a successful year.

Aww I LOVE 'Free' and it was 1980 Harve -_-

Alphabeat, The Script & POSSIBLY The Ting Tings will have second albums I think (The Script better do as their album is AOTY for me -_-) OneRepublic  They're sorta one Hit wonders this year, as 'Apologize' was Timbaland presents OneRepublic... and that was end of last year/start of this year. So Stop & Stare is their only hit  Unfortunately! They'll probably have another album but not expecting it to do much! :(

No, 1973 was James C***.

I don't 'remember' Free or 1980 because I didn't really listen to much music in 2004! I'm sure if I did I would have been obsessed with her back then as I recently (well 5 months ago) bought her debut album and I LOVE it - especially the singles.

I know they didn't really have big hits to start with so they aren't on the same level as Sam Sparro, Sara Bareilles or Gabriella Cilmi but Ida Maria and Little Jackie look like they'll do absolutely nothing with their next singles too which is unfortunate as I think they both have good singles (and albums) and Radio 1 heavily played both of their first singles. -_-

I thought they'd just changed their name  I thought Platnum was the guy and H'Two'O were the girls

LOL, i thought the same.

I agree about Little Jackie, to be honest i was suprised World Should Revolve did so well whilst it looks like no one is taking much notice of The Stoop.
