2008 ?? Lovers Are Losing

I just noticed Viva La Vida has left the top 40

It must be # 41 :o :heehee:

This song is about 100 times better than 'The Lovers Are Losing', I've heard that several times over the weekend and it's so dull. Completely devoid of any hook.

I had that thought a few days ago, listened to Lollipop and still found it awful, so maybe it's just certain songs (for me anyway!)

Still love Paper Planes. Shame it didn't peak higher :(

Oh right.

Agreed about 'Paper Planes', should have been top 10 at the very least.

I quite liked Green Light too :o

I've liked it since it was entered in the BJSC. I quite like his new one too. (perhaps as it features Estelle )

8 new entries is good I agree!

Mind you, compare that to 1998 when the whole top 5 was new, and there were 6 new entries alone in the top 10!

OK, compared to the first half of the year :P

huge drop for MIA. What happened??

Hello btw. :)

Hi. ^_^

I expect the big drop is slightly related to it being taken off the Radio 1 playlist this week.

U.K. dance-rock outfit Bloc Party stormed both sides of the pond in 2005 with the release of its debut full-length SILENT ALARM. Mixing airtight dance-floor rhythms with smart guitar-driven melodies and a hipster aesthetic, Bloc Party set itself apart from an overcrowded field of often over-hyped British bands, and established itself as a force extending beyond the latest music industry headline. - HMV

Bloc Party Thread

This is a good record from Bloc Party and at least we got to see them in their video this tune around but this is on the verge of becoming there worst showing in the UK Charts since the original release of "Banquet" in 2004 which buy the way is the group's biggest hit in the US.

Lovers... is more traditional for Keane. Spiralling is Keane in funky mode :)

glad to see Chris Brown in the top 40 with Superhuman, love that song!
Spiralling:

Holland #29 (#12 in the Top40)

Eh, do they have two charts there? It peaked at #14 in the new UK chart which I should be publishing later...

I was hoping the whole of the new album would be like Spiralling, but it is dull even by their standards - and I say this as a Keane fan!

I think there should be 10 to 14 new entries per week to keep it interesting, and spread throughout the chart.

good old 90s when 80% of the chart were NEW entries :)

But you have to take into account that a lot of Bloc's fans would have already owned Talons before it became available this week - for anyone who downloaded the album from August onwards, Talons was offered as a free download. I'm sure it still wouldn't have reached THAT much higher though tbh :(
