October 26, 200817 yr I just noticed Viva La Vida has left the top 40  It must be # 41 :o :heehee:
October 26, 200817 yr This song is about 100 times better than 'The Lovers Are Losing', I've heard that several times over the weekend and it's so dull. Completely devoid of any hook.
October 26, 200817 yr  I had that thought a few days ago, listened to Lollipop and still found it awful, so maybe it's just certain songs (for me anyway!) Still love Paper Planes. Shame it didn't peak higher :( Oh right. Agreed about 'Paper Planes', should have been top 10 at the very least. I quite liked Green Light too :o I've liked it since it was entered in the BJSC. I quite like his new one too. (perhaps as it features Estelle )
October 26, 200817 yr Author 8 new entries is good I agree! Mind you, compare that to 1998 when the whole top 5 was new, and there were 6 new entries alone in the top 10!
October 26, 200817 yr 8 new entries is good I agree! Mind you, compare that to 1998 when the whole top 5 was new, and there were 6 new entries alone in the top 10! OK, compared to the first half of the year :P
October 26, 200817 yr huge drop for MIA. What happened?? Hello btw. :) Hi. ^_^ I expect the big drop is slightly related to it being taken off the Radio 1 playlist this week.
October 26, 200817 yr 39 Bloc Party - Talons [P] http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/3627190.JPG Chart Run: 39 [1 wk] Release date: 20-10-2008 Format: CDS Number of Discs: 1 Catalogue Number: 3627190 Label: POLYDOR U.K. dance-rock outfit Bloc Party stormed both sides of the pond in 2005 with the release of its debut full-length SILENT ALARM. Mixing airtight dance-floor rhythms with smart guitar-driven melodies and a hipster aesthetic, Bloc Party set itself apart from an overcrowded field of often over-hyped British bands, and established itself as a force extending beyond the latest music industry headline. - HMV Video here: TO4y6oFBf40 track listing 1. October 26, 200817 yr Spiralling: UK #23 Holland #29 (#12 in the Top40) Belgium #41 Ireland #22 Canada #52
October 26, 200817 yr This song is about 100 times better than 'The Lovers Are Losing', I've heard that several times over the weekend and it's so dull. Completely devoid of any hook. Lovers... is more traditional for Keane. Spiralling is Keane in funky mode :)
October 26, 200817 yr I think there should be 10 to 14 new entries per week to keep it interesting, and spread throughout the chart.
October 26, 200817 yr Spiralling: Holland #29 (#12 in the Top40) Eh, do they have two charts there? It peaked at #14 in the new UK chart which I should be publishing later... Edited October 26, 200817 yr by TomKay

October 26, 200817 yr Author Lovers... is more traditional for Keane. Spiralling is Keane in funky mode :) I was hoping the whole of the new album would be like Spiralling, but it is dull even by their standards - and I say this as a Keane fan!
October 26, 200817 yr I think there should be 10 to 14 new entries per week to keep it interesting, and spread throughout the chart. good old 90s when 80% of the chart were NEW entries :)
October 26, 200817 yr This is a good record from Bloc Party and at least we got to see them in their video this tune around but this is on the verge of becoming there worst showing in the UK Charts since the original release of "Banquet" in 2004 which buy the way is the group's biggest hit in the US. But you have to take into account that a lot of Bloc's fans would have already owned Talons before it became available this week - for anyone who downloaded the album from August onwards, Talons was offered as a free download. I'm sure it still wouldn't have reached THAT much higher though tbh :(
