Posted November 7, 200816 yr I have been thinking about how certain countries send certain types of songs most of the time, for example when Agnes Carlsson's On & On was sent to BJSCXI, I made a comment that 'it sounds like an FSR Rontvia' entry, because FSR Rontvia are notorious for sending female pop hits, often from Sweden... a lot of other countries have a style too it would seem - Ashton go for female pop, Kopecka go for female alternative-pop most of the time, Nonsuch and Herzebania usually go for mature female pop (e.g. older female singers or those with a more mature sound) whereas countries like Frahliso, Jester's Kingdom and BANG can be relied upon for the more obscure indie or electro entries
November 7, 200816 yr Well, Eledan go for the random song that they obsess about at the time of the contest :kink: :heehee:
November 7, 200816 yr I was thinking about my 'sound' in the other thread and I don't particularly have one. I guess female is a bit of a guarantee but there isn't one genre in particular. That kind of describes my taste in music in general I guess. I don't particularly mind if it's Pop, Soul, R&B, Dance, Alternative(ish - I have my limits) etc. as long as it's female I'll probably like it. Beverley Knight - Soul/Funk Estelle - R&B/Hip-Hop Sara Bareilles - Pop Santogold - Alternative M.I.A. - Alternative/Dance Robyn - Pop/Dance But I wouldn't say my Santogold and M.I.A./Robyn and Sara Bareilles/Robyn and M.I.A. songs were similar even though they dip into each others genres. I guess my next possible entry, Laura Marling, is a bit like the Sara Bareilles sound. (maybe I should back off from it now!)
November 7, 200816 yr One alternative entry and one pop entry. So now I think Kdazia will go back to its roots and establish the more symphonic female fronted rock sound (Within Temptation, Evanescence, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil etc). I'm positive our next entry will raise a few eyebrows.
November 7, 200816 yr Well after entires from The 411, Chris Brown, Jamelia, Cookie and in the future Stacie Orrico, Lorikket probably fall into the usual Buzzjack type of sending Urban/Pop entries mostly from females.
November 7, 200816 yr :smoke: i think you meant Female Pop FTW. (Dragonette had men in it so it's not all women lol)
November 7, 200816 yr I don't think I really have one - I think I've enterred songs from a variety of genres :)
November 8, 200816 yr Maroon 5 & Rihanna Pop/Rock The Script Urban/Pop CSS Alternative Metro Station Pop/Rock The general treand is Popy stuff with a touch of Rock/Alt  so far me thinks :)
November 8, 200816 yr Good songs. ;o Bar one song I entered. Clea's still good, and 'good' isn't a sound :smoke::P
November 8, 200816 yr Solange - R&B Little Jackie - R&B/Pop VV Brown - R&B/Pop Jessica Mauboy - R&B Danity Kane - R&B So mostly R&B/Pop Female :P
November 8, 200816 yr If This Is Love > Pop Feedback > R&B/Pop Pictures > Dance/Electronic Pop Paparazzi > R&B/Pop Hallelujah > Rocky Pop Basically, Pop with everything thrown in :kink:
November 9, 200816 yr I don't think I have  Although I'm very international, all my artists so far have been from different countries :) Canada, Sweden, USA, Britain, Portugal, (Possibly) South Korea
November 9, 200816 yr The songs I've sent are all pretty different tbh, but I guess it can be placed as 'Alternative' there's a bit of indie, pop, dance, electro thrown in as well. :D
November 18, 200915 yr Dhany - Yo Quiero Respirar /Dance-Europop Oceana - Cry Cry / R&B Medina - You & I / Dance Anggun - Snow On The Sahara / Pop I guess not. Varies between 3 main genres, pop/dance/rnb
