It was untouched haha, she said, 'its a bit random, a song from an Australian band' :lol:. I was thinking, hang on, i've heard of that song and almost said, that won the BJSC...but said, 'isn't that by The Veronicas' intead. She was like, 'omg, you know that song!!!' I was like, 'err i havent heard it, but ive heard of it' :P She said, 'so what, now i know someone else ehos heard of the Veronicas' :lol:

It does seem as though there is a positive correlation between doing tours and getting a good result though so it wouldn't be wasted!

Really? I don't think tours have ever made that much of an impact and you wont be at a disadvantage if you don't do one. I think Mdice has only ever done one tour since I joined and the entry that was promoted was Isabel, she finished 7th. Brandy and Katy Perry just spoke for themselves. I can't remember if I've done tours, I don't think I have, but my entries have done alright so far. (bar Estelle and Sara)

 

Touring does no harm, but people will often vote for what they like whether they were visited by a country or not. You get as many promoted songs as non-promoted songs in the results really and sometimes even promoted songs fail. (Janelle, Tori etc.)

Touring is a waste of time tbh. I dunno why I did it for Isabel. xD In the end it doesn't really matter; I noticed nearly zero correlation between touring and votes when I hosted.

Agreed there's no point in touring, i did with Cookie and i landed in 18th place. I gave up with Kelly after about 2 dates as i realised there was no point, people will vote for the song they like, not if an artist toured in their country.

I was gonna send The Magic Position into the male spinoff if ever there was one...

I don't know, I think it can make the difference - I only toured to get Janelle into the final, and she did so by the skin of her teeth so I attribute that one as a success. I don't think it's a coincidence that Non Mollare Mai did as well as it did off the back of its extensive tour. I think it could probably bag you another 10 to 15 points than you would normally get...

except their tastes are far more alternative than here, so the songs that are seen as 'risks' here would all go down very well there, and pop songs are unlikely to do well, as there are very few pure pop fans on there

 

but their contest is nothing like BJSC, for a start it's only once every 6 months or so, and we don't have 'countries' we just send songs, but don't say who sent them, so there's no 'voting for members you like' favouritism
