December 18, 200817 yr It's actually happened more recently than 1955 - 'You've Lost That Loving Feeling' was number 1 for The Righteous Brothers and number 2 for Cilla Black in 1965. Hallelujah won't even be the first Christmas double - in 1953 Christmas number 1 and 2 was shared by 'Answer Me', bu Frankie Laine and David Whitfield (with Laine taking number 1) I have checked and these versions were at 2 and 3 one week and then the following week Righteous Brothers were at 1 and Cilla went down to 5, the last top 2 being the same was in 1957 with the song 'Singing The Blues'
December 18, 200817 yr Is Quo's ICT still in the Top 40? Has the Scooter song went any higher? Much appreciated. SQ down 21, Scooter top 100
December 18, 200817 yr WOW! At Girls Aloud!!! Those sales are awsome! I'm so happy! I had hoped Alex would be over 300K by now, but sales are still really good. Tomorrow's update will be really interesting
December 18, 200817 yr Is Britney's GH in top 200? And what about Blackout? By the way, having in mind the sales until now, what can be expected for Circus on Sunday saleswise? Thanks!

GH top 140 Blackout top 200 Like I said before, I'm not the sales guy, and this isn't really a sales thread, but if anyone knows... Currently it's at 26.1K though.

December 19, 200817 yr OK Yanto, don't worry about it. Just try not asking the same thing over and over OK? Never knew Rhydian had a following in the millitary... :)
December 19, 200817 yr yes he does mate specially if your in a welsh regiment,ok cheers will just ask for update daily if thats ok? he could be the next tom jones, lol
December 19, 200817 yr No problem. Next Tom Jones though? I wouldn't go that far... :) I've got my mum the Rhydian CD for Christmas (I'll then borrow it from her for a while!) Norma
December 19, 200817 yr I just think he's a bit mediocre. TJ is a legend :) My goodness if you think Rhyd is just mediocre ... what must you have thought of Leon? Seriously though Rhydian has a fabulously theatrical voice ... I'd pay good money to see him in the right musical (and I'm not fond of musicals in general - apart from Singing in the Rain, The Sound of Music and Cabaret) Norma
December 19, 200817 yr He'd be good in a musical for sure, I love musicals, though mostly pop based ones (Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Hairspray...) But as a pop/classical artist he just doesn't cut the mustard for me. I didn't really like anyone in last year's X Factor apart from Niki and Daniel cos he was hot Same Difference were fun too. That said, I hope Rhyd's auditioning for Andrew Lloyd Webber Does A Song For Europe or whatever it's called...

December 19, 200817 yr You want him to lower himself to Eurovision? :o Edited December 19, 200817 yr by Andyroo
December 19, 200817 yr You want him to lower himself to Eurovision? He already lowered himself to X Factor :P All this downloading of old tracks is screwing the chart up. Those comparisons were seperate new versions by different artists. I was talking about this to a friend who worked in record shop in the 80s, and he told me it was a lot like this back then. Most shops had huge amounts of back catalogue records available, and so when an old song had new exposure, it was very common for it to climb back into the charts. I don't see what's so different, really.
