Having a sly dig at a band is totally different from calling an induvidual on here pathetic and immature IMO.

 

If you read my post you would see that I didn't actually say the person was immature per se... I gave them the option... They either didn't get that Kate was just having a laugh, or they were just being immature and silly about it and couldn't take a joke which wasn't even aimed at them anyway.... :lol: Their choice as to which option fits mate.....

 

Besides, my real problem is that Kate's topic was closed tbh, and that people clearly have no sense of humour about it (which is surely a sign of immaturity in itself)... She did nothing wrong.. She didn't cause offence to any individual, did nothing against BJ rules, and in fact didn't even actually CUSS the Saturdays directly.... So, I dont see that there is a legitimate reason for closing the thread....

 

IF Kate had done a thread like "The Saturdays are sh!t - Discuss" or a fake poll to the effect of "Which Member of Saturdays looks like the biggest Skanky Whore...?", then you'd have a legit reason to close down the topic IMO... But, she did neither, came up with an amusing thread that was a sly dig and didn't cause any real offence.... So, sorry mate, no grounds for censorship in my book....

 

I agree on your other points but to be fair when you mentioned The Saturdays in the Death Magnetic thread it was obviously a negative comment about The Saturdays rather than when you post in topics related to The Saturdays its a positive comment about Metallica and how they're so much better than The Saturdays. Not sure how much sense that sentence makes but i hope you understand :P

 

All I was really doing was pointing out the facts and figures though mate.... On BOTH threads.... And the figures do tend to speak for themselves.... I've got the actual evidence to back up my points....

And tbh not the comparisions are anything but pathetic.. You have to admit for a band thats not so much of a mainstream culture they sell absolute $h!t loads. And you should be able to see where they are coming from... I mean come on... The Saturdays are PURE manufactured pop (then again now a days who isnt), so they are MADE to make hits and sell $h!t loads. But obviously in comparison to Metallica, they havent. Im sure they could bring up another artist that could still make the same point..

Theres not always a need to retaliate, especially when all they are saying how ridiculous it is for them to have a forum so early in their career. (If your going to answer back, a little tip: DONT use Leona Lewis as an example to getting a forum so quickly after a career. Leona Lewis > The Saturdays)

I think Kate's thread now quite possibly = thread of the year.

 

But this all does raise a wider issue of contention. People attracted to Buzzjack it seems now, are often LOONS. I.e. totally obsessional fans who struggle to seperate criticism of "their" artists from criticism of themselves as people. It's some weird logic. Artist = person? Erm yeah... It's just a sad reality of the Internet, it brings out the best and worst of people.

For a site that has AFs for acts such as Darius, Jamelia, Delta etc, some of whom have struggled to chart in the past 4 years or get a 2nd hit album then I am not so sure why there is such uproar over a Saturdays forum?! Surely if they are so hated then you would all be pleased that they have their own forum so that you never have to read about them on here again should you choose! Prior to the AF being started there were 4 or 5 active threads on the band clogging up the top end of the pop forum.

you cant use that as an arguement tbh, for the sole reason that the majority of those threads were people (mainly mushyrob and grim) saying the Sats are $h!t (in a constructed way, not just literly saying 'saturdays are $h!t'.

I wish people stop going on about it... its there, they are not my favourite girl band, and I don't go over there to cause abuse, they do have actually a official forum, with loads of members, if it works, it works, if it flops, it flops... end off.

Its not an excuse but surely better for those of you that dislike the band so much to never have to see threads about the band again - The Saturdays won the poll to get a forum by a huge margin why can't people just accept it?! Buzzjack is clearly a place where manufactured pop rules looking at AFs - Its what the majority of users want on here and if you don't like it then ignore it just as I do the Aerosmith, Coldplay etc, AFs.

There are actually problems with those acts having forums as well :P It's not about the act being hated - it's more about them not deserving a forum as they can be very easily catered for within their respective genre forum; additionally most posters here think it's rather pointless as they reckon The Sats will be dropped by this time next year.

Another reason why many AFs similar to the ones you've mentioned should be deleted to generate more activity in the genre forums :smoke:

But the Darius forum is consistently in the Top 10 in the AF charts and Until Britney moved up to the Top 3, they were Top 3 for a long while with Anastacia & Will Young, so the forums are in use ALL the time! I've never been to the Darius forum, but what is there to talk about him? :unsure: Whatever it is it seems to work ;)
