Sugababes beating The Script in Best Group of 2008?? -_- The Script have had a far more successful year -_- and deserve to at least be Top 3 :cry:

 

Only one thing for it! Declare this abomination void and start a new one. As it is I just stuck in a pin in the 'dance' and 'rap' category as I wouldn't know one act if it came up to me in a taxi, got out and mugged me!

 

One vote in each category no matter what. And include Coldplay's VLV in the single category!

As long as Britney is in the list, there's going to be NO preventing bias voting for her.

I would like to know who chose most of the options tbh. Ashlee Simpson in the albums? :/ Mika in Best Male (and to a lesser extent, Timbaland)?! Amy McDonald under Best New Act?

 

It would've been far better if we'd had a nomination stage for these awards...

Oh yes, and having 'Best Fe/Male Singer' is quite the mistake. Artist is the word you're looking for? I can't say I've ever noticed Timbaland singing...

 

I'm also pretty annoyed at how obviously mainstream the options were. Not having Santogold in the Best New Act category is nothing short of insane considering all the buzz she's had this year...REGARDLESS of singles success.

As long as Britney is in the list, there's going to be NO preventing bias voting for her.

 

 

You may find though, that the absence of a multiple choice option in certain categories would lessen the chance of a non-deserving Britney win! I'm sure those who voted in the multiple choices just chose their remaining four from acts that they knew stood no chance of opposition to Britney! You'll notice in the categories where there is only one option ... she lags sadly behind .... deservedly!

 

I may be a wrong .... but I'm sure I'm right!

Hmmm, maybe this should be restarted, allowing some sort of nominations round first to make sure there is a wide range of artists and acts, not the usual Britney/GA/Sugababes/Leona thing.. Also, it would allow Dance, Alternative, Rock and RnB fans give opinions of the real stars of each genre this year.

i'm sure the choice of the nominees will not please all music fans, even the Brits and the Grammy nominees do not live up to everyone's expectations...

 

but i chose the nominees based on success and sales for 80% of the acts and on fans and critics reviews for the 20% (which explains the inclusion of Ashlee, Kylie and a few others)

 

i know i did not please everyone with the nominations but at least it pleased the majority of u which is great.
