Oh dear not a good time for Enrique, Craig David, James Blunt and maybe even Akon to be releasing comeback singles now.

Why? If you're talking about the oncoming Diva onslaught, these singles probably won't be out until December.

Wonder why they're removing the Sugababes while they're still top 10?

It's never a good time for Craig David to release a scomeback single in my opinion. Can he not just accept that he's past it now?

Only reason he's doing it is because he's one of the minor acts on Capital's "Jingle Bell Ball" so he knows they'll have to play his song across the whole Global Radio Network now...

Confused as why Sugababes removed already?

I could be cheeky and say because it's an appalling rehash of a gimmicky song and, furthermore, possibly the Sugababes' worst single ever.

I'm quite surprised that they have added Boyzone's Better so early I wasn't expecting them to add it till next week at the soonest, its released not released untill the 1st of Dec. Also quite shocked that they have removed the Sugababes, I thought they be playing for ages.

Boyzone are playing at the Jingle Bell Ball, remember?

Sorry if I appear thick, but what is this Jingle Bell Ball and who else is appearing at it?

Well it hasnt had the best reception and looks like it could be #9 or#10 in this weeks officials.

Thanks for the reply. So the artists on there are going to be getting even more promotion for their music than before, if that's possible. Nothing changes does it

It can't be the station of your choice Val, because anyone listening to it, couldn't fail to know what the Jingle Bell Ball is, they mention it every other minute. ;)

In all fairness, this is a pop station, with a pop concert coming up, and of course they're going to play the artists on the promotional trail at the moment, who'll be performing there. :D

No, I don't think I've listened to the station more than a couple of times. They lost me as a listener when they refused to play Gareth's new music last year. They obviously have their favourites and won't be shifted on that  Lucky for you that Will seems to be one of the chosen few.

I'd never heard of them having a Jingle Bell Ball

It's a charity event, they've done it before but it used to be calles Capital Christmas. They used to do Party in the Park too (Gareth performed at that), it's mostly all about helping a London child.

Actually, they do have a rather large play list as you can see, mostly pop, but there's certainly more than a 'chosen few' :D

They only reason Capital doesn't playlist Gareth Gates is because he is an artist who rates very poorly amongst listeners.

Radio stations spend millions of pounds each year on music research and Mr. Gates returns an extremely poor "love" return. Quite a commendable "hate" return though.

Capital will just playlist what they think is the best new music (mainly pop); they don't have "favourites". What is most questionable about the current playlist is the bizarre exclusion of the Kaiser Chiefs.

Sorry, I don't agree with your opinion Senor Hugo. They didn't even give their listeners a chance to decide for themselves if they liked Gareth's New Music (and believe me it was definitely different).

And what's with the `hate' return. What did he ever do to deserve a `hate' return, other than to get a record contract as a runner-up in a competition. You couldn't find a more likeable person than Gareth if you tried, as has been discovered by everyone who has given hima chance to show his real self over the last two years.

I stand by my opinion that they have most definitely got their favourites.

I alternate my radio stations, but was once a huge listener to Capital and like to think that I did have a chance of determining what music they play by answering their music surveys. Can I just say that well before Gareth released any of his music, there wasn't one survey where anyone was given the chance to say if they loved it (or hated it, although hate is a strong word). Having followed several different artists I am of the opinion that it isn't just the artists who are dominating the playlists. it seems it is the record companies behind them too, or possibly the other way round?

Interesting. Can I read more about this somewhere?
