December 31, 200816 yr Oh and btw if Alexandra does 100K this week she'll be in the top 100 of all time :P She should storm past a million this week, particularly with the single being sold for 1p in some of the Woolworth closing down sales!
December 31, 200816 yr Million-selling predictions for 2009 U2 They would have a monster hit, something like, the cover of Randy Crawford's One Day I'll Fly Away. Green Day Kings of Leon style comeback million-selling single. JLS They would have a million-selling debut single the cover of This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan. The Script They would have a monster ballad, the debut from second album. Blackout Crew Hip-Hop outfit from the North of England, who have minor hits this year, to have a breakthrough hit, to be help by the music video. What truly AWFUL predictions. U2 covering Randy Crawford? And who the f*** are the Blackout Crew? Don't give me the toss, U2 have 38 top ten hits, Green Day have lot of to ten hits, JLS are X Factor 5 runner-up who have got the record deal, The Script have one top two hits and Blackout Crew have yet to make a charts breakhough. Hundreds of acts have had a top two hit. And they're not all going to get million-selling singles. U2 are successful, but I don't know that they've ever sold a million copies of a single. Albums most certainly. Same with Green Day, I don't think they've ever come close to a million copies of a single. Why would that change? And JLS...recent trends for reality TV winners show that very few sell well past the initial Christmas buzz, let alone runners-up.
December 31, 200816 yr So Spice Girls have 2 million sellers, which is their next closet to selling a million not that it ever will but just asking! Say You'll Be There ;) It had sold around 930,000 copies in old update of the top 200 from 2005 that I have  but I guess it's slightly more than that now. Need an update as the other one posted does have quite a few differences now :o Others in the top 200 that I have (bare in mind these sales are estimates and they may be slightly higher now) Goodbye - 833500 Spice Up Your Life - 800000

Why cant we get a recent up date on their sales, who releases their sales info?
December 31, 200816 yr 'Angels' Shipped 1.2 Million to UK Stores. About 864,000 of them were sold - but it keeps the 2 x Platinum Disks that it got. Its Sales are now well over 900,000. It could be selling 500 a week without ever touching the T200, and at that rate it would reach the million mark in only a few more years. Of course, if/when Robbie releases more new material, the extra interest in his back catalogue would accelerate that timetable.
December 31, 200816 yr I can't believe Earth Song is Michael Jackson's biggest selling hit ever. how random lol and Madonna having no million sellers at all :o
December 31, 200816 yr i think within 10 years SYBT will it 1,000,000 id imagine its closer to 950,000 now

It will be interesting - at the the end of the 2000 to 2010 period, to see how many Million Selling Singles, & Biggest 1st Week Sales Singles, actually did well because they were simply released, & people loved them - and how many did it, (really), because they were by people who Won TV Talent Shows - and the hysteria that so many people feel about buying the 1st Single - as fast as possible. It's this mentality:, 'I voted for him/her! He/She Won! I simply MUST buy his/her Single now!'. (Irrespective of whether it's any good!). I dont think thats the whole story(some of it, yes, but there are other factors) . After all, if that were the only reason, Leon would have sold about the same as Alex.

I think you need to take a look at the names of the million sellers, the saturdays are far from their standards! If GA cant sell 1M then the saturdays surely wont be doing it anytime soon!
December 31, 200816 yr who deleted my post? There aren't any deleted post from you (in the trash can). Maybe you forgot to add the reply ? :o
December 31, 200816 yr Madonna & ABBA share the fact that whilst both are in the Top 10 Best Selling Singles Acts in the UK, neither has had a Million Selling UK Single. Nor have either Act ever had the No.1 Single of the Year in the UK. Although both have had the No.1 Album of the Year more than once - ABBA in 1976, 1977, & 1980, & Madonna in 1986 & 1990.
December 31, 200816 yr There aren't any deleted post from you (in the trash can). Maybe you forgot to add the reply ? :o  - might an alternative be the 'old' 'browser time out' or something like ( in my experience the screen remains blank indefinately after hitting 'add reply' button - moving off the page, refreshing etc when you check the thread that post wasn't added) ------------------------------------------------------ Since Spice Girls fans (who naturally only have the bands history left now)are going off topic - thought i would similarly mention Kylie also has another single close to (but will never make imo) a Million seller....well OK i'm being a little bit economical with the truth - it was the Xmas ballad with Jason (Donovan) "Especially for you" - though Jason only reached a Kylie degree of single late 80's pop success with his 2nd solo release after EFY (in '89). Unsurpringly i think Mr Pete Waterman claimed it was a million seller and looking at its late 80's Xmas chart run that seems a possibility - but all the data i've seen puts its at ~950k (or a bit less?) Unlike cgyoomh (and its iconic video surely part + parcel of its million seller status especially given it was 'just' over a million) imo EFY falls under having another DRAW unrelated to POP music, - the are they? aren't they? romantically involved in real life like their characters famous story arc in 'Neighbours' which with the relatively unsophisiticated PR they had at the time managed remain neutral on (neither 'denial' nor 'admission') alternative 'innocent' explainations for all the suggestive evidence to the contrary being given. Think Kylie casually blabbed admission of their romance years later but by that time the reality was that Kylie was ( + always has been to some extent) a (bit of a) sex nymphomaniac - "just dating" as i remember her saying ALL the time between blokes ( yes her routine is "just an act" she told us but where did she get all that EXPERIENCE to draw from to make it so realistic? ) - it was no longer much of a surprise given the 'intense' relationship (K/J) rumours at the time suggested it was :D
January 1, 200916 yr Best Selling Singles of the 90s 2 - Unchained Melody - Robson Green & Jerome Flynn 1,840,000 Best Selling Singles of the 00s 2 - Unchained Melody - Gareth Gates - 1338000 Aaah always pipped at the post!
January 1, 200916 yr I hope Unchained Melody isn't re-released (again) in 2010-2019 - for me the song is overrated
