I don't think Mika will as big tbh. Think he's left it too long to capatilise on his 07 success really.

Hopefully totally new artists will dominate 2009 (preferrably from the UK rock/indie alternative scene)

and American overrated c**p such as Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Eminem etc. will flop badly.

I also hope urban music finally fails to generate a bigger public interest in the UK this new year.

I think Green Day will come back with a Kings of Leon style return and Eminem will be do a Dido and flop as by the time he releases it will be five years since "Encore". U2 should do well and if Blur make another album then it will be big

For the last three years there has been absence of million-sellers.

So there are the million-selling predictions for 2009

U2

They would have a monster hit, something like, the cover of Randy Crawford's One Day I'll Fly Away.

Green Day

Kings of Leon style comeback million-selling single.

JLS

They would have a million-selling debut single the cover of This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan.

The Script

They would have a monster ballad, the debut from second album.

Blackout Crew

Hip-Hop outfit from the North of England, who have minor hits this year, to have a breakthrough hit, to be help by the music video.

The Saturdays

They would have a R&B ballad, written by Diane Warren, the debut from second album.

Are the Blackout Crew the Donk guys if they had a million selling hit I would laugh so hard it would be hillarious

Is this a joke? If even Leona can't manage a million seller, what makes you think ANY of these artists (esp. JLS and the Blackout Crew) would manage one?

Lady GaGa (obv), Little Boots, Frankmusik, possibly La Roux and VV Brown are my rather unsurprising predictions for success next year. I do hope Frankmusik can avoid the curse of being a male artist with Island Records though...

Since when are they hip hop? They do cheesy chavvy techno-pop music. And why are you posting your predictions for the 5th time now...?

What truly AWFUL predictions. U2 covering Randy Crawford? And who the f*** are the Blackout Crew?

Hundreds of acts have had a top two hit. And they're not all going to get million-selling singles.

U2 are successful, but I don't know that they've ever sold a million copies of a single. Albums most certainly. Same with Green Day, I don't think they've ever come close to a million copies of a single. Why would that change?

And JLS...recent trends for reality TV winners show that very few sell well past the initial Christmas buzz, let alone runners-up.

Are you actually blind? You don't have to keep posting the same thing to try and get people to respond to your ridiculous predictions...

Yes, it's stupid.

JLS, The Saturdays & the Blackout Crew future million sellers? Self explanatory.

Too hard to say really for returning artists. I think unless you're a mega big band (like U2) then it's too hard to say without hearing material, as now I think if you release a $h!t lead single then you're completely screwed for the era. Saying that i'm expecting U2, Green Day, Arctic Monkeys and Eminem to have pretty big years...

On the new music wave, hopefully White Lies. But i'm not sure. As much as I hate her, Florence and the Machine will be big, as will Little Boots, Kid Cudi and FrankMusik.

I think Florence And The Machine, Lady Gaga & Little Boots will be big next year. Perhaps Frankmusik.

And, JLS and Blackout Crew for million sales singles, are you having a laugh!

Only agree with Green Day. Lol at Blackout Crew and U2 (The Randy Crawford part). Surely you're joking?

2009 will see the return of Melanie C. I'm not sure if it's new material or a greatest hits but she's due to have some sort of success. Melanie B. also planning a comeback but I haven't got my hopes up for that

alexandra burke, something like leona did in 07, i think kelly clarkson will be a strong return and leona will probably do good again this year with her next album.

Christina Aguleria has a new one heading out too..right?

Lady Gaga.

I'm not too sure about Kelly Clarkson. Hopefully she could be big in 09 too.

I think Britney's will carry on till 09 as well as quite a few other artists who released in late 08.

Going back on toopic..............Esmee Denters, Dutch singing sensation of You Tube who is bankrolled by Justin Timberlake (to be big not a million seller)
