Lady GaGa looks set to score her first number one hit this Sunday, with her single Just Dance (Interscope) currently edging out Alexandra Burke at the top of the OCC’s midweek sales charts.

Let’s Dance, number three last week, sold almost 19,000 copies yesterday, some 7,000 more that Burke’s Hallelujah (Syco), which has been at number one for the last three weeks . However, Hallelujah has now sold more 1m copies in the UK, edging past the tally yesterday.

Elsewhere on a rather static singles chart, MGMT’s Kids (Columbia) continues its journey back up the charts, and is likely re-enter the top 20 this Sunday, while Coolio looks set to benefit from his appearance in Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother, with his 1995 hit Gangsta’s Paradise (Tommy Boy) set to re-enter the top forty.

On the albums chart, Kings Of Leon’s Only By The Night (Hand Me Down) looks likely to reclaim the top spot from Take That’s The Circus (Polydor).

Other likely winners this Sunday are MGMT, whose Oracular Spectacular (Columbia) should return to the top ten, after appearing in many end of year albums polls, and James Morrison, whose second album Songs For You, Truths For Me (Polydor) will challenge for a top ten placing.

I'm just looking forward to proper midweeks for once!

im hoping

01 LEONA

02 THE SATURDAYS

03 LADY GAGA

in reality

01 LADY GAGA

02 JAMES MORRISON

04 LEONA

09 THE SATURDAYS

oh and id imagine TLK would be around #17

love the new rules!

I can't predict charts in January....its too hard!

Im thinking the Saturdays maybe #11 today and a climb to #9 by Sunday

Britney back in the top 40

GaGa #1, with Leona at 2

and James & Nelly at 3

Praying that The Saturdays are at least between #8 - #10 in the first update!
Hope Lady Gaga is Number 1, and the Saturdays top 10, though i dont mind as long as both are in these positions by the of the week. :)
No surprise for Gaga. I knew everyone overestimated Kids though, but glad to see the album climb...
Can't believe Coolio has made such an impact on CBB already to have his single re-enter the Top 40! :heehee: Wonder if the mids will change much after the mass sell off of Alexandra's single for 10p today in the final Woolies stores!
 cool for Gaga. Also good news on the rules I hate seeing all the Suga/GA bitching.
Wonder if the mids will change much after the mass sell off of Alexandra's single for 10p today in the final Woolies stores!

Hasn't it already been said that at such a low price, it won't count towards the charts ?

I guess Jason Mraz is gonna hit Top 40 with I'm Yours next week.

BTW, Go GaGa!

And Go One-hit Wonder Coolio.

Hasn't it already been said that at such a low price, it won't count towards the charts ?

No its based on the dealer price not the retail price.

So good to see the 2nd James Morrison album getting the recognition it deserves - Back in the Top 10 and also a new Top 3 peak for the single 'Broken Strings' too
