Posted January 6, 200917 yr Lady GaGa looks set to score her first number one hit this Sunday, with her single Just Dance (Interscope) currently edging out Alexandra Burke at the top of the OCC’s midweek sales charts. Let’s Dance, number three last week, sold almost 19,000 copies yesterday, some 7,000 more that Burke’s Hallelujah (Syco), which has been at number one for the last three weeks . However, Hallelujah has now sold more 1m copies in the UK, edging past the tally yesterday. Elsewhere on a rather static singles chart, MGMT’s Kids (Columbia) continues its journey back up the charts, and is likely re-enter the top 20 this Sunday, while Coolio looks set to benefit from his appearance in Channel 4’s Celebrity Big Brother, with his 1995 hit Gangsta’s Paradise (Tommy Boy) set to re-enter the top forty. On the albums chart, Kings Of Leon’s Only By The Night (Hand Me Down) looks likely to reclaim the top spot from Take That’s The Circus (Polydor). Other likely winners this Sunday are MGMT, whose Oracular Spectacular (Columbia) should return to the top ten, after appearing in many end of year albums polls, and James Morrison, whose second album Songs For You, Truths For Me (Polydor) will challenge for a top ten placing. ======================================== Top 40 Only Singles 01 Lady GaGa 19k 02 Alexandra Burke 12k 03 James Morrison/Nelly Furtado 04 Leona Lewis 05 Kings Of Leon Top 10 Kings Of Leon (SOF) Beyonce (SL) Top 15 11 Saturdays Akon Top 20 Kevin Rudolf MGMT Top 30 Kanye West (Heartless) 27 Britney Spears (Circus) Ne'Yo (Mad) Top 40 32 Girls Aloud (TLK) Coolio ================================ Albums 01 Kings Of Leon 02 Take That 03 Duffy 04 Leona Lewis 05 Killers Top 10 MGMT Script Top 15 11 James Morrison Snow Patrol Top 20 Michael Jackson Ting Tings Akon Top 30 Seal Jason Mraz Take That - BW Fleet Foxes 28 Kylie Kanye West Top 40 Chris Brown Glasvegas Adele Coldplay Keane NO SALES INFO ================================================ PLEASE READ REVISED RULES [01] Any member that is caught spamming, or trying to cause an argument to get a reaction will be severely warned with a ban for 7 days from posting on the forum. January 6, 200917 yr No surprise for Gaga. I knew everyone overestimated Kids though, but glad to see the album climb...
January 6, 200917 yr Can't believe Coolio has made such an impact on CBB already to have his single re-enter the Top 40! :heehee: Wonder if the mids will change much after the mass sell off of Alexandra's single for 10p today in the final Woolies stores!
January 6, 200917 yr cool for Gaga. Also good news on the rules I hate seeing all the Suga/GA bitching.
January 6, 200917 yr Wonder if the mids will change much after the mass sell off of Alexandra's single for 10p today in the final Woolies stores! Hasn't it already been said that at such a low price, it won't count towards the charts ?
January 6, 200917 yr I guess Jason Mraz is gonna hit Top 40 with I'm Yours next week. BTW, Go GaGa! And Go One-hit Wonder Coolio.
January 6, 200917 yr Hasn't it already been said that at such a low price, it won't count towards the charts ? No its based on the dealer price not the retail price.
January 6, 200917 yr So good to see the 2nd James Morrison album getting the recognition it deserves - Back in the Top 10 and also a new Top 3 peak for the single 'Broken Strings' too
