Posted February 14, 200916 yr It featured lists from 1952 up to recently, of every weeks new entries in the singles charts. I've been searching for it for ages now and have given up. Its not everyhit.com.
February 14, 200916 yr don't know how far they go back but try these two: http://www.dvdfever.co.uk/music.shtml http://www.chartstats.com/
February 14, 200916 yr You still *can* read it... I know but I stopped it because it got uninteresting for me. Mainly I checked it because of the release schedule but now we have here a source from ManicKangaroo so no sense to visit it (for me). PS: his comments are getting ruder too imo.
February 14, 200916 yr yes I remember the website but I'm going to be of no use as I can't remember its name! Wasn't it from a few years ago, so perhaps it has now closed down? I had it bookmarked at one time but the fact it's not in my bookmarks any more makes me think it no longer exists (I go through all my bookmarks once in a while and remove all the dead links).
February 14, 200916 yr it's not that one, though thanks for that I've bookmarked it. This particular site listed each and every top 40 entry in chronological order, by year, with date of entry and peak position. I'd forgotten all about it until it was mentioned in the first post.

February 14, 200916 yr Was it the site that used to be at this address? http://www.thetop40charts.co.uk/ ("British Top 40 Singles" I think it was called) It's gone now, but there used to be a No.1's list from 1950s to 2000s, and there used to a top 40 option, with a black background, and had massive lists of every top 40 entry. I suppose the creator of this website kind of gave up, with the introduction of downloads to the chart it has become near impossible to keep up with new entries and movements in the chart.

Well remembered! I had to check on the archive.org site (the Internet Archive Wayback Machine site) to make sure that was it. That site links through to www.thenewtons.co.uk/charts/index.html which was the replacement website after a while. That site then links through to the top 40 database: www.thenewtons.co.uk/charts/top40/index.html and the above is the site I now remember having bookmarked. Fortunately it's been archived: http://web.archive.org/web/20050829221118/...op40/index.html though archived sites have a habit of just disappearing from the Internet Archive site so it's here today but could be gone tomorrow... plus not all the links may work. That's the one, that I got on my browser, and it was a handy site to have. Maybe we should club together and post other chart sites that can be relevant for chart info and keep them in one topic for future reference.

February 14, 200916 yr Maybe we should club together and post other chart sites that can be relevant for chart info and keep them in one topic for future reference. In that case another good one is www.umdmusic.com
February 14, 200916 yr http://www.whatsthattune.co.uk/latestadverts.asp This one is good for commercials
February 14, 200916 yr Although we do have a links forum, I agree that a handy pinned thread with good chart resource links would be a great idea ^_^
February 15, 200916 yr Only from 2003, but an EXCELLENT site for chart dad, shows week by week positions! http://acharts.us/
February 15, 200916 yr Another one is www.worldcharts.co.uk as for chart related features, it not only features chart archives from 8 countries and links to current charts across the globe but also features No.1 & No.2 hits from both UK & US with No.1 listings from Australia and Germany. Also UK TRUE one hit wonders and million sellers. Edited February 15, 200916 yr by Euro Music
