March 9, 200916 yr ^I love having the Cinema to myself and my mates but not when its just me alone... I dont like being in a pitch black closed off room all alone  I nearly had a fit when i went to the cinema with my mate and it was just us two and the screen (for some reason) had yet to come on and then the trailer for Friday the 13th came on and all i could hear was the creepy whisper/breathing that usually comes with the Friday films... I was like WTF GET ME THE HELL OUT OF THIS PLACE. I can kind of sympathise with that given some of the stuff you said about yourself on "Perspectives".....
March 9, 200916 yr I can kind of sympathise with that given some of the stuff you said about yourself on "Perspectives"..... Its also very embarrasing when you go to watch a horror film (even a crappy one) and still jump  At the most obvious of times too... But me and my mate just laugh it off now really... I dont find it the least bit intimidating.
March 9, 200916 yr You see, I'd actually LOVE that tbh.... It's like you're own private cinema almost, no noisy brats, no bloody chavs with their ringtones going off.... I really dont see what's "sad" about it..... For a cinephile like myself, it's heaven..... Lol, well I was only 15 at the time and felt like a total loner! It was The Day After Tomorrow though so I got to enjoy Jake G all by myself at least
March 10, 200916 yr Lol, well I was only 15 at the time and felt like a total loner! It was The Day After Tomorrow though so I got to enjoy Jake G all by myself at least A lot of it depends on the type of film you go to see as well probably... I got to see a lot of foreign language films (yeah, okay, that sounds high-brow, but bear in mind that Japanese/Korean horrors and HK and Thai action movies and police thrillers also have subtitles....LOL), so to have distractions of a mate or whatever would just break my concentration, which I need to read the subtitles.....
March 10, 200916 yr i usually go with friends, but i've been alone a couple of times. last time i went alone was to watch grand tarino
March 12, 200916 yr The only time I've ever went alone is when I got kicked out of a film for being too young when I went to see 'Hard Candy' with friends and had to go see the movie I actually brought a ticket for to get through to the screens ... 'RV'. It wasn't funny at the time though haha.
March 12, 200916 yr The nearest proper cinema is at least 15 miles away, excluding village halls etc. so i can't even get there on my own, so no.

March 15, 200916 yr i have tried it one time...but i find it boring, i won't do that again... Why boring? Surely you're there to sit quetly and watch the film?
March 15, 200916 yr Why boring? Surely you're there to sit quetly and watch the film? But then theres the part after the film where you usually tend to talk about/review the film...
April 23, 200916 yr i wouldn't mind actually watching the film on my own it's just the walking through town on my own to get there which would bore me.
April 23, 200916 yr But then theres the part after the film where you usually tend to talk about/review the film... Well I come out and go straight home!!! Edited April 23, 200916 yr by Crazy Chris
April 23, 200916 yr I have always gone with my friends, or family back home. I have a similar film taste as a lot of my mates so we all go together. We tend to watch the film trailers and decide if we wanna see them or not to amuse us before the main film starts. I went on my own when i was in Sydney to See Confessions Of A Shopaholic coz pretty much all of my friends back in the UK had seen it, and i'd read the book. Was a bit crap waiting to get into the screen itself, was bored as f*** lol. But once the film started it was fine, i don't chat to my mates during a film anyway.
April 27, 200916 yr With Joao's point excepted, I've never ever understood why there seems to be this social stigma attached to going to the cinema by yourself. Assuming the whole reason you're going is to see the film (and not just to get down in the back row) then why do you need someone else next to you? My cinema buddy tends to want to watch the same films as me so I'm usually not on my own, but I wouldn't think twice about doing so if I wanted to see a film and nobody else did. Now, going to the theatre yourself is a different matter. I've done it twice recently but really wish I'd had a buddy to chat to during the interval.
May 1, 200916 yr i have tried it one time...but i find it boring, i won't do that again... Er, maybe it was just the film that was boring.....
May 1, 200916 yr Seems I always go alone to cinema.....last time I saw a film, was December 2007.....solo.....and, that was the movie version of Beowulf.....
