Really happy Take That flopped and pleased Lady gaga is doing so well on downloads only :D

I hope take that realise that cr*p singles like 'I'd wait for life' and 'up all night' won't give them hit songs. I bet anyone their next single the garden will do well (go in the top 10) which will prove my point that up all night is just a crap*y choice for a single.

I disagree! Up All Night (despite being a flop chart-wise) is still one of the best songs on the album ... and I'll defend it strongly - it is way superior to the quite average Greatest Day and apart from 'She Said' and 'Said It All' is the only single-worthy song on the album. The Garden will FLOP hugely - no matter which country it is released in and quite rightly so! It is ok as an album track but as a single ... it has FLOP written all over it!

The Garden will barely trouble the top 40 ... let alone the top 10!

Well its because he picked a rubbish song i'm afraid which deserved to flop IMO

It's not a rubbish song, it's a rubbish song that's sitting at #1 and LIG would have done ok, if it had gotten some radio airplay, the only reason his album has risen is because of the tv promo he's done. Anyway, it's better to be at #29 in the album chart, than in the singles chart.

it's a shame that talented home-grown acts like Will Young and Lemar are flopping with great singles while we have Flo Rida at number 1 with a cover of a brit 80's hit, and the talentless T.I and Taylor Swift in the top 10 with below than average songs!!!!!

Lemar? Talented? lol

I do agree about Taylor Swift though but I would rather her make way for some other home grown talent than Lemar.

Really happy Take That flopped
Take That's Up All Night is just a fun, cheesy track, but very likeable.

I agree, Will Young's Let It Go is a dulled-down version of Who Am I and a poor choice for a single.

Lemar? Talented? lol
Well, he either won or came second (can't remember which) in a BBC talent contest, so I guess he is. He's certainly the best soul singer we've had in Britain for as long as I can remember and Weight Of The World is a good single. I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is, considering the lack of promotion it's had.

It's not a rubbish song, it's a rubbish song that's sitting at #1

Couldn't agree more - who the heck buys that sort of thing and finds listening to it remotely enjoyable?

so happy girls aloud greatest hits is back in the top 40 and both singles still top 75 :dancing:
Really happy Take That flopped

Hardly a flop in the grand scheme of things, Over 17,000 sold this week - Its their 19th consecutive Top 20 hit, It has sent the album back into the Top 10 and the album which it is taken from has sold over 1.6 million copies in a short space of time. Also Take That don't release multiple versions of their singles for fans to download - It is just the 'Radio Edit' and 'Album Version'.

I know someone at The OCC, & I asked him why the GA 'Hits' Album was back in the 'Main'

Album Chart, when many people thought it was now a Budget Album.

Here is his reply:,

The cd version was a budget album, but (for technical reasons) the digital version remained full price. We are working to make a budget album

the same priceband across all formats, but digital sales are harder to link up when it comes to priceband. We will sort it out though

Anyway, as a result, the album was in the budget chart because of the cd sales, but in the main album chart due to the digital sales.

Just to confuse things, I think the label has now made the cd version midprice, so all sales will now count towards the Combined Album Chart

So that is what he said.

ME TOO. And DOI/Untouchable should make OOC shoot back into the main chart. As much as I love how Greatest Hits is selling, OOC should be the better seller atm for obvious reasons..

:o thanks as always Zeus, clears everything up. Hopefully the sales'll be just as steady this week, pleasant suprise and just when we thought GA were out the charts, the album pricing brings their million selling album back in the main chart! :D
