Will it even make the top forty? You can't download it on iTunes on it's own since it's "album only" which will stop it selling loads surely since most downloads are from iTunes... It's had hardly any airplay and most people I know either hate it or haven't even heard of it.

 The fact that it can't be downloaded individually will really harm its chances of becoming a huge seller - Sainsburys are stocking the single but its downloads that people want! Can see this just scraping the Top 10!...The only plus is that it might mean The Saturdays climb to #1 on Sunday :cheer:

I put it at number seven now in my predictions. This week the top five sold 40K+ and it's likely that they (if not at least the top four) will do this again. I can see them selling 25K max on physicals and about 5-10K from people buying the Ep.
you're forgetting physicals too...that will be enough to put it top5 at least

What physicals? :P

Just gone into HMV and they had September, Dan Black, Peter Doherty, Oasis, Katy Perry and T.I./Justin Timberlake. No Comic Relief singles, not even the Saturdays! :o Unless it had all sold out of course (but there were no gaps on the singles rack).

But when people buy the EP, doesn't that count as a sale for it? I think it will probably do it but it's hard to tell since the iTunes album charts have no popularity bars and we don't know how to measure the strength of sales on there.
It's a shame it will be #01, awful song with no melody and no 'comedic' value whatsoever in my opinion.
Why do you all think it will be number one? Where will all the sales come from?

The EP which is #1 on the iTunes album chart? We can't exactly see how much it's selling but it's only £1.99.

Well surely physicals will be a big impact and the download of the EP will still count? :P

Last time Avril Lavigne was #01 on iTunes all week and The Proclaimers still managed to make it to #01 due to the physical sales ...

Even if the downloads don't count for whatever reason, I'm sure the physicals will make it go Top 5 at the least. :(
I think it's hilarious, especially when they perform it in the video/mini episode.

I really just don't see what's funny about it AT ALL.

I could understand it with 'Amarillo' and '500 Miles' as bad as they were ...

Are you a Gavin and Stacey fan? if not then i get where you're oming from as you might not get their humour.

I've never heard it but it sounds boring.

I'm going #3 for it due to physicals which will no doubt be quite massive, but the huge downloads of Flo and Ke$h and PF will put them ahead

Where exactly do you buy these physicals from? There were ZERO copies of "Islands In The Stream" in HMV despite six other fresh new releases being well stocked.

I know you can order online, but seriously.. you'd expect some instore copies wouldn't you?

well they will be in Sainsbury's as they have everthing Comic Relief related in there, maybe TK MAXX.
