Personal Chart Commentary – week 156

In a very stable week, Oasis stick at #1 with Falling Down, September rises to 2 and look set to peak with the rather cheesy Can’t get Over. This is the second runner up for September in under a year as Cry For You peaked at 2 for 3 weeks last May, although Satellites was also a huge number 4 hit back in 2006. The stars (but not the winners) of Sweden’s Melodifestivalen, Alcazar, debut as the highest new entry at 3. This is Alcazar’s second hit for me, as Crying At The Discoteque was a #1 way back in 2002 – the follow up This Is The World We Live In would have charted if I had been doing a full chart at the time. Royksopp drop to 4, and Friendly Fire’s Skeleton Boy sticks at 5 for a third week!

Coldplay stick at 6, The Saturdays rise to 7 with the Wideboys mix of their CR song, Sneaky Sound System, my flop BJSC entry, rises to 8, Lily drops to 9 and The Noisettes rise to 10.

Other newbies: Velvet (19) and Fleet Foxes (23). Climbers include: Lady Sovereign (19-16), Doves (20-17) and White Lies (24-18).
