April 28, 200916 yr To be fair, what he achieved was awful, but he achieved a hell of a lot. Can't say he wasn't a competent leader... Hilter did have some highly flawed idea's. But, he was responsible for the VW Beetle and the Nurburgring. And all the horrid things, and the death of millions of innocent people. But he did appear to be a good leader.
April 29, 200916 yr Hilter did have some highly flawed idea's. But, he was responsible for the VW Beetle and the Nurburgring. And all the horrid things, and the death of millions of innocent people. But he did appear to be a good leader. Of course Hitler was a good leader. He raised morale in his country better than what Gordon Brown has been doing. He's still a twat. I can't stand Ben's smug face.
April 29, 200916 yr Author Surely Noorul will go! S'ralun has been dying to get rid of him for weeks! Now's his chance - even though Ben should go! Norma
April 29, 200916 yr Hurrah that Narool went. I have been waiting for him to be in the firing line. Mind you, Ben was crap and should have gone!
April 29, 200916 yr Ben. :( Awful! How anyone can have the bare faced cheek to say what he said when he went down that "dissing the woman in the book store" route... I wasn't previously a Debra fan but my God, she was effective in there. And wow at her shouting at Nick; I realised it was probably the first time I've heard anybody address him (or Margaret) in the board room, never mind shout them down! Fabulous. But Noorul shouldn't have gone. If it's going to be judged entirely on past tasks as Sir Alan clearly did, why bother continuing the contest at all? A big flaw to get rid when Ben was such an awful leader (and what happened to that supposed fight he was all prepared for?); he was clearly just kept for TV entertainment purposes. Blah. I was actually quite sure that he'd go when he made that tremendously funny slip-up, choosing James to go back and then entirely back-tracking and opting for Debra. And GO JAMES for absolutely owning him back at the house. Hurrah. Oh AND I'm most glad that Philip had to swallow his pride and apologise to Lorraine, even if it was utterly half-arsed. The woman must cry herself to sleep at night. Cassandra > The Gob.
April 29, 200916 yr Very happy Noorul went, he was similar to Ghazal a few years back, pure luck he made it as far as he did. Ben was an arse as usual, i dont see him lasting long. And after a few positive weeks in the background Debra is back to being an unlikeable cow. Oh how we've missed her. Ranking 1. Yasmina 2. Kate 3. Howard 4. James 5. Debra 6. Lorraine 7. Phil 8. Ben 9. Mona
April 29, 200916 yr Author And again ... Lorraine has been seen to be what could possibly be a 'dark horse' in this contest. Maybe though ... she's too bright to actually win! Two weeks on the run she's been right and has been shouted down by team-mates. Loved Margaret calling her the 'Cassandra' of the team ... Lorraine looked like she knew what she meant but the others were possibly wondering 'why is she bringing up a character from Only Fools And Horses'?    Norma Edited April 29, 200916 yr by Norma_Snockers
April 29, 200916 yr Oh thank god he is gone! :cheer: Ben annoyed me choosing James at first. WTF was that all about?! Still love Kate the most! :D
April 29, 200916 yr Quote of my life: "This must be one of the most stupid activities they have yet engaged in" I'm so mad about Philip ignoring Lorraine about the rug, just because he doesn't like her. What a knob. LOL at James carrying the rug while Yasmina struts along in front of him  I can't really believe HOW two-faced Philip is being, saying Lorraine changed her tune about the rug at the last minute *horror*
April 29, 200916 yr Actually, I'm not sure I understand the big objection to Ben picking James at first. It seemed all a bit like Ben didn't pick the two that the producers wanted for the best board room scene. Hence the gasps when he was picked. I mean, Noorul was picked on time and time again for blending into the background and not doing much, yet when James was suggested for essentially the same thing this time it caused a mini-uproar. So it's fine to pick Noorul for sitting back but you can't pick James for essentially the same thing? Why should he have picked Debra? She may have lost control in the board room but she was the strongest member of their team this time. I didn't see her trying to shift vintage shoes £1 for the lot. The only alternative would have been Yasmina who was, perhaps, a bit more at fault than James this time as she seemed to be cutting a lot off of their items. I don't know, it just seemed all odd that him picking James evoked such a reaction, like they were briefed "this week the board room three are Ben, Noorul and Debra".
April 29, 200916 yr Are Kate and James even IN this episode?! I'm 27 minutes in, and I think they've only had about 2 minutes of screen time.
April 29, 200916 yr I meant 'she wasn't dictatorial'. Obviously I wouldn't think that a good quality! Except in the case of Hitler. He was a diamond. But Yasmina WAS a dictator in her team leader task..."I demand you all call me Chef. Right?" And Hitler is totally underrated. Ben. Fabulous. Debra...GOD NO. Talking back to Nick should be punishable by death. She was far too aggressive and cocksure. I don't think she'd have deserved to go at all, but she remains an odious person. Noorul...it is ironic that after weeks of hiding behind bushes, the week he FINALLY goes is the one week where he didn't deserve to and actually put in a reasonable performance in the boardroom. Before tonight I'd have put money on Noorul being the one to keel over and die, not Ben. On the basis of this task alone, Ben should have gone. Up against ANYONE other than Noorul and he would have. I can't believe the change in him. A totally incompetent manager who was once all mouth, and is now nothing. The Ben who mauled Paula two weeks ago must have been an evil twin to the shambles we got today. Sirallun was quite right, Ben was a defeated man, all the fight had gone. And do you know, I LOVED it. Not only is it just desserts, but I actually found meek, on-the-verge-of-tears Ben to be INFINITELY more likable than normal Ben. MORE PLEASE. I also had much appreciation for him point blank refusing Debra to bitch about the team. It was the ONLY positive aspect to his leadership tonight. Agreed on Philip. It was GREAT to see him get his long-awaited slapdown re: Lorraine. And again ... Norma Lorraine is a dark horse in that I suspect she'll stay a while in the competition, and she's won Margaret's respect which makes her the next thing to God. But I also agree she won't win. I think she'll be this year's Lucinda; judged to a bit TOO good to be the Apprentice. I can't really imagine Lorraine in a trainee/apprentice type role. In all tonight was a topnotch episode. Hugely gratifying to see the two biggest tosspots on the show get caught out finally. Had Philip's team lost, there's no doubt who would have gone. Unless Philip reins himself in considerably, he'll be the next one to have his card marked a la Noorul. Ben...something tells me this may be his turning point now. He seems to have reached rock bottom, so perhaps he'll learn from this and gain some humility? Tonight's was the best boardrooms we've had this year so far...Ben's almost-suicidal U-turn on his boardroom selections, James' reaction of complete OUTRAGE (speaking of James, I think he's the other dark horse in the race, he seems to be rapidly gaining favour, Sirallun seemed genuinely surprised at Ben's initial choices), Noorul finally speaking, Debra getting totally slapped down, Ben falling apart at the seams, Philip being shown up to be a stubborn bullying fool...all MARVELLOUS stuff. And topped off nicely by James massively putting the boot into Ben at the house; the first time he's spoken without coming across as the "village idiot". "SPINELESS"....magnificent. Current ranking 01. James - he won't win but I wouldn't be surprised if he managed to sneak into the final. 02. Kate - rarely putting a foot wrong atm 03. Yasmina 04. Lorraine - had an EXCELLENT week 05. Mona 06. Howard - been far too quiet since week 1, really needs to boost his profile a bit 07. Debra 08. Ben 09. Philip
April 29, 200916 yr Ben's an absolute dork. He keeps on mentioning this scholarship he got offered. Nick: He has got a scholarship to Sandhurst. Margaret: Yes, but he didn't actually go. PWND. LOVE Margaret. Noorul shot himself in the foot when he brought Ben's "real" intentions of being on the show into the boardroom. Philip is just a little child. He just needs to stfu and listen to Lorraine in future because she clearly knows what she's doing. :P Yasmina is kinda good. She's a serious contender for Bitch of the Show, the other contender being Debra, who, to be quite honest, is a rampant dickhead. Ranking 1. Lorraine 2. Kate 3. Howard 4. Yasmina 5. James 6. Mona 7. Debra 8. Philip 9. Ben Edited April 29, 200916 yr by Cal
April 29, 200916 yr Margaret and Nick were on fire tonight. How dare Debra speak to him like that. I'd have fired her for that :heehee:
April 30, 200916 yr Margaret and Nick were on fire tonight Margaret was great...especially when she was following them round with that rug. Her face was priceless.
April 30, 200916 yr well the boring one went again , and why not?...well i agree with shoat that based on the task alone it should have been ben. but ben was very shrewd picking deadweight noorul and 'safe' james, only to backtrack and pick debra. he thought that noorul was the most likely to go and he was right. but actually the wrong team lost.... ignoring the rug was stupid and that ugly bint was spot on.
April 30, 200916 yr Noorul is a nice, well educated. He's not a business man though and his days were clearly numbered. Ben is still young (22) and is clearly not getting the difference between assertive and arrogant, there is a visible insecurity in Ben and I think Alan will start gunning for him - just you watch! My favorite is Debra, she's controversial but she has BALLS! To stick up for Jason and grab Ben by the balls, she was on top form. But I think Kate will win! She's got it all going on and I'd like a woman to win!
