Rugby, U.K., singer-songwriter James Morrison could be the genetic offspring of James Blunt, Joss Stone, and Terence Trent-D'Arby. Soulful vocals mixed with sensitive acoustic guitars, and some tasteful Beatles-esque string flourishes, and there you have it. Morrison's debut album, UNDISCOVERED, released in July of 2006, owed as much to contemporaries KT Tunstall and Damien Rice as it did to legends like Otis Redding, Cat Stevens, or Nick Drake--and that undeniably successful formula, not surprisingly, took the album to the top of the U.K. album charts. - HMV

I'm not getting my hopes up. You don't understand what I put. I know GaGa has been #2 all week, I said that there is only 1 non-mover left in the chart, and I have a feeling it is Jai Ho.

Aidan, what you put could be interpreted many ways. Put your  away.

Please shoot me. I'm more in love with Broken Strings now, than at the start of the year :o

Oh you're ruining Aidan's dreams :o :heehee:

Don't be so mean Ben. :( :kink:

LOL 4 members in a row have Lady GaGa as their avatar (Slowpoke, Ethereal, Aidan and Bibliotheque)!

This seriously needs to go now! :(

Do they still play Shine every 10 minutes??

The UK chart has become so stagnant :( The same songs hang around for ages which is a shame...

I loved "Broken Strings" once but now? How many times can you listen to the same track?? The same with "The Fear" (well, I was never a fan of that one to be honest)

I've never liked BS, but if anything, it's slightly more bearable now than when it was in the top 10 for 653484242468641358496394 weeks.

GaGa will never go! :heehee:

Put your  away.

I really hope 'Not Fair' can make top 10 this week!

Chart Run: 56-36 [2 wks]

Release date: 6-4-2009

Format: SS [7" only]

Catalogue Number: R6768

Label: PARLOPHONE

Bat For Lashes is the alter ego of UK singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Natasha Khan. Bat For Lashes' dramatic, avant garde style invited unavoidable parallels to be drawn with Kate Bush and Bjork, their music and vocals often sharing a similar exotic and enchanting sound. Khan's art school roots studying film and music are an obvious presence in her undeniably cinematic style, she often listed as films such as The Virgin Suicides as her inspirations. The wide range of instruments, combined with synths and beat machines on her 2006 debut album, FUR AND GOLD, created a unique, otherworldly sound that won her critical acclaim and devoted fans, including acclaimed psych-folk musician Devandra Banhart. - HMV

Good record from BFL, at least its not the Elton John tune but I don't get the music video.

GaGa will never go! :heehee:

Ooops, I meant 'Broken Strings', not GaGa!

Didn't really say it very clearly!

I wish we had a chart like 1999/2000 with a new number one every week ;)

I don't :( I hated the #1 every week period - at least now we get a good mix of long stayers at number 1.
