Lol please don't request it we don't want a riot

I think we're forgetting the multichart here :P. Surely that is more accurate for BJ tastes than the UK chart? I would say that it is cheap to enter a song in the top 75 of the multichart Now. But then i discovered Metric - Help I'm Alive and others which aren't actually that cheap but made the top 75 of the multichart. I'd say about top 40 or 50. I'm not sure about older songs.

The whole "Cheap" idea is a whole lot of rubbish imo, a song is a song and everyone should be allowed enter any song without fear of being ridiculed or laughed at for picking a "Cheap" song.

It's all about the song at the end of the day and if a song is truly great it will beat a "Cheap" song........is everyone afraid that the likes of Womanizer would have beat the pants off Will you remember me tommorrow in a fair contest? I don't know about you but I'd pick Margeret Berger over Britney any day of the week.

I think my entry for XVI (perhaps) might be considered cheap then, considering people's comments so far!
I use the term "cheap" because that's how I feel about certain songs. That said, if I like them I'll vote for them. I'd just prefer to see unknown songs being entered because that's what I prefer, tbh.

I think the cheap label is getting a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Quite a few of the songs I've discovered have been a hit somewhere in the world so does that make it cheap? I'm sure it'd be "cheap" in whatever country it was released in and to certain people.

I would like to enter a song in the next contest that recently went to #2 in Australia. To the majority it probably wouldn't be considered cheap though since I don't think a whole lot of people on here have heard it. Then again, If I were to enter a song from a Swedish artist I may be a bit more wary... people on here seem to follow that country more closely!

Mine too, but I'm considering withdrawing it if it goes top 40 this week.

ooooh an Aussie, who????

Personally if it's in the top5 or likely to be in the top10 by the final week avoid it. I.e. Jai Ho and Love Story.

is this in reference to Ercola? I honestly wouldn't call that cheap even if it does go top 40 this week

it's hardly a smash hit, and would add some variety to the contest...we NEVER get trance here...it is as far removed from the sterotypical Buzzjack taste as you can probably get, unlike Jai Ho and Love Story which are typical BJ fare...

Yes, Mart!n called me out on it in the NF thread... I know it's trance, but in my mind it's just dark, dancey Swedish pop :D

My definition of "cheap":

- A current hit (aka Love Story at the time it was entered)

- A top 10 hit (UK or US) within the last 3 years (aka London Bridge)

- A rather anticipated release by a big artist (Funhouse by P!nk should be the next one :P)

That's it, really. :nocheer:

I just picked random tracks  , didn't see it in your list of potentials, oops

It's cool  I think we're even now :heehee:
